BMX: Dual World Championship Title Aims

Both cycling World Championships will be held in Australia and for Buchanan the Four Cross world title will be conducted just metres from her home in Canberra.

At the BMX World Championships, Buchanan will line up with the current Olympic silver medallists, Laetitia le Corguille (FRA). While current World Champion, Shanaze Reade from Britain, is ruled out following injury, her absence will give riders like Buchanan a chance to claim the crown. Likely challengers could be world ranked riders, Eva Ailloud (FRA) and Sarah Walker (NZ), currently first and second respectively. Also in the line up will be Australia’s Olympic finalist, Nicole Callisto from Perth.

Buchanan departs in ten days time to join the BMX National Team’s training camp in Adelaide prior to the championships. Racing in the BMX World Championships gets underway at the Adelaide Showground between the 23 – 26 July.
