If still in warranty, this will make it easier however the issue described sounds like it just needs a bit of fine-tuning. Perfectly normal scenario that is fixed by a short service to callibrate the derailleures.

Otherwise, for Australian purchased equiptment, should you have difficulty with your local bike shop – the importers are Echelon Sports and Monza Imports.

I purchased a used bike with Sram components fitted. The front chain wheel brake/gear lever assy appears to be faulty? The chain guide will not stay over the big chain wheel after using the double tap lever? It springs back over the small chain wheel.

Is the brake/gear lever assembly serviceable? I have spent a lot of time searching the net looking for a dealer in Australia to discuss my issues unsuccessfully but eventually found this site. Have you had any experience with this problem? What are my options?
