Race Report - Marconi Tuesday Crit - WSID

After the Melbourne Cup shennaigans, a robust crowd turned up at the Western Sydney Dragway for Marconi Clubs Twiglight tusday crits.

I started in D grade with about 17 others.

A strong southerly generally kept everyone together. The southerly was at your back down the main straight and in your face the other half of the race.

A few attacks were initiated and i even chase one down! If it came time for me to atake a turn on the front i just slowed down and generally somebody else would come through.

The pack was pretty much still altogether with a handful that had dropped off coming into the final lap.

the pace picked up a bit coming over the final hill and into the roundabout. Once we turned the corner into the home straight i was about fourth wheel kepping an eye on everybody. One bloke hit hard. The young fellow Jack wwas on his whell and i on his. The bloke petered out about 200m to go and it was me an jack. I tried to get over the top of Jack but just couldn't. At about 10m from the line a tall lanky bloke came blasting pass on the left. You could've thrown a blanket over us. I claimed 3rd. Not sure if young Jack one bit he deserved the win with a long and determined sprint.

Normally it's the Raceway (ECR), but this week (4/11) and next week (11/11) it's the Dragway(WSID) due to the unavailability of the Raceway.
