Hi!!
I'm actually in England for a year. I just heard of this race: a 24 Hours Cycling Race on the Bugatti of Le mans.!
I'm not sure if it is the same circuit as for the car race or only the smaller one?
Anyway sounds fun! Might try to go there with 5 other friends... is there anyone else planning to go there???

true that it is pretty expensive. One of my friend send an email to the organizer to have the explanation of these registration fees. Apparently, the rent of the circuit and of its floodlight are very expensive.
We are actually trying to find partners to go!!

Check out the Mersey Roads 24 in England. Not a relay (you do it solo) and a time trial (no drafting), it was great fun when I did it in 2002.

you did 24 hours in solo??? was it hard? I know i just could'nt do such a thing, being in a team of 6 is just fine, means 4 hours maximum on my bike... it's enough! I am pretty anxious to ride by night when I'll be exhausted!

The Bugatti circuit at LeMans is a shorter circuit than used for the 24hr sports car race.
It is used for Moto GP racing and most other classes of car and bike racing.

I have registered to the newsletter of the event. They have finally send news about registrations and apparently more than 160 teams have registered (not that bad!) but only 5 % from foreign countries (not vey good!!). I bet it is coz it is a bit expensive and pepole are probably waiting till the last minute to register (i'm actually not regsitered yet)!
Anyway here is the article about the registrations:
The teams are divided up in the following way:
• Single: more than 30 racers
• Pair: around 20 teams
• 4 riders-team: around 60 teams
• 6 riders-team: around 30 teams
• 8 riders-team: around 20 teams
The current race entries from all over Europe show your interest in this brand new cyclo-sport:
• 15% of the teams registered are from the Sarthe Department
• 20% of the teams registered are from Paris area
• 60% of the teams registered are from the rest of France
• 5% of the teams registered are from foreign countries
Beyond the 56 French departments represented we are pleased to welcome our neighbours from Switzerland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, and… from Cayman Islands.
I'm quite suprise to see that the solo category is quite popular, theyy have to be a bit crazy to go for 24 hours cycling race in solo!

It sounds really great but it is impossible for me to do it. 24 hours is just not possible and the second reason is the cost. According to me, its very expensive.
