Got bike fitted

Postby snedden9485 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 9:19 pm

I got computer bike fitted yday for both of my bikes. Interesting to see that i was a fair way out with the seat height etc. My seat was too high, which was giving me too much of a toe down pedalling action. With the seat lower, my pedalling action is better and my foot flatter, which hopefully should increase the power and comfort a little more.

Hey Sneddon,
Where did you get this done. Was it in Newcastle?, i'm also interested in seeing what my position is like just to see if it could be improved.

No i had it done at Pushy Galore in WYoming on the Central Coast. Not sure if there are any computer fitting centres in Newcastle.

10cm or 10mm?

Did two wheel do a computer fitting? The fit i had done was great, gave me all the exact measurements and worked out all of the angles i need to be in. I think it will be a good thing. I have spoken to a few people who had it done and they were all vey impressed.

Ok i just measured and it was actually 6cm not 10cm to low compared to where it is now.. the two wheel industries fit was done by Marek the shop owner with all his measuring equipment etc not computer he use to work for pro teams over in Europe and Aus before opening up shop in newy. he still does some team work now so i trust his workmanship

Interesting I have fitted both my cycles out the same last week ,,also shifted my cleats back several mm so the first 2-3 metatarsal "main joints" of the toes are over the pedal spindle reducing the work load on the calf muscles and saves energy for the larger more important muscle groups,I also had to drop my seat height and pretty much flat footed through the base of the pedal rotation,The result was not only more power ,,no calf cramp but the big surprise was increased cadence,I was under the impression that toes down "after the 4 o'clock position" at the bottom of the cycle would reduce the "dead spot" but not so in my case,"A friend and I have been experimenting with this and the same positive result"I am no coach/expert etc ,,Just my 2 kiwi dollars worth
Take care

Yeh my fit has been good. Not sure re power output, but i feel comfy on the bike. My set up wasnt WAY off so, it hasnt been a huge change. Still i think they are a good thing thats for sure.
