Yeh, its getting expensive on skin suits, that one was $165 I think. Though club jersey + bin knicks is $220. The real $ cost is no income from spin classes.

I've got a question if you don't mind me asking. Do you have to actually ride to conduct a spin class? I've never been in one or seen one so I don't know. Sad to hear of your income loss. It makes me think I need to get income protection insurance.

Xray result: non displaced rib fracture, 9th rib
They also spotted my 2009 injury: There are numerous old healed right rib fractures in the mid axillary line involving ribs 5, 6, 7, 8 and possibly 9.

After reading the reports over the last two years I've decided this Ride for Life is not for me! And a monster crash at Heffron too, in the other thread. From my perspective it's a blessing to be not riding enough, fat and unfit...
Toppity - I've got income protection insurance. But guess what it won't protect against? Loss of income due to crashes in races. If anyone finds an underwriter willing to cover bike race incidents, I'd love to hear...

At Heffron on Saturday there was a crash in C grade sprint, 3 with broken collar bones, one of which also got a punctured lung.
Racing is not without risk, but this is a bad year for the DHBC fasties group (DHBC has 4 riding groups) with about half of us injured this year, some with broken bones, but none of these injuries come anywhere near what othy has/is suffering.

When I was racing, I had insurance with I think American Accident Insurance and they covered me for racing but I don't know if the are still around. I used it once for a month after I had two bad falls in a week.

There's a catch, I'm suppose to be doing a training course on the same weekend, however I could move the training course to Melbourne, which will cost me about $400 for some discount air fares and cheap accom in St Kilda (Course at Fitness First Richmond)

- I'm not fussed about RAW or the Southern Cross Cup or ATTA
- Going to give the 3 races at the Aussie champs my best
- Grafton is an unknown, I haven't done the base K's, though I still have some time slots

What are the nationals like, from the view of a long weekend away? On times I should be middle third in the TT and may hang on in the crit or road race for a while, so I was thinking about doing them but I'll have just started a new job. I could get away (I'm returning to an old employer in a new role so they know me) but I'm not sure it will be worth the time off.

Not yet, but I just saw the news that the 2012 Masters NSW titles will be on just before the Masters Nats, and that both will be at Goulburn. Next year's events will be so convenient I'll leave it till then.mikesbytes wrote:Have you done the nsw ones ?
