4 man team at this stage, but I would consider going solo if I had to.

From the web site: "Lights will consist of a min 15w light for the front be it LED or HID"
Huh?
Having lights, yeah, good idea, but does 15W make sense? Even Audax doesn't demand this much light.
Is there something I don't get?

We managed to get our main team up for the overall win and the mixed team got up for the win also. We sacrifced the second open team for the main team at the 10 hour mark, a shame because we were still in the lead lap and had some strong riders, but it was important to keep the main team out in front. My race format was that i went out 2nd after 90 mins. What a start, the bunch flew past us and had to chase at speeds between 45 - 50 km/h for a lap (5.5km i think) to bridge the gap with two other guys. Talk about in the bin, i nearly popped on my first lap! Apparantly an attack had just went and we were chasing it.
After getting on the bunch it was ok and i stayed out for 90 mins before another change. The race all stayed together until about the 5 hr mark, when one of our main guys broke away with another guy and pulled a big lead on the bunch. Over the next few hours, our main team stayed out and managed to get a lap on the field which was great. . I went out for another 90 min around the 8 hour mark. So the main goal was then to get rid of the other leader who came across the break. At around the 8 or so hour mark, our team broke again and went solo for an hour or two, pulling time on the field. The #2 team was still sitting pretty in the race, but we pulled them back later to help out the leader. Then we had the fun job of doing 30 min TT efforts to hold off the hard chasing Central Coast boys. I went out with about an hour to go for about 30 mins with our main guy. I had the fun job of swapping off turns with him in the dark. Great fun! The bunch was cracking along chasing, but we managed to hold them off with time. Another quick change and some more hard laps. The end result was the main team won by about 3 minutes and the mixed team won comfortably! A very well run event and a great atmosphere. According to announcers, we done around 500km in 12 hours, so an avg speed of about 42km/h.
Still cant believe those top solo guys. Freaks!

So effectively you had an 8 man team entered in the 4man team division... is that what this race is about? having as many teams in the 4 man team division to all work for one team?? I think you and your mates need to have a good hard look at yourselves.snedden9485 wrote:Done this race yesterday. Awesome. Our team had 3 teams of 4 entered in the race (2 x mens open and one mixed 180 years combined age).

It is a event for 4 people not a multi teams event, if you get dropped/lapped in a crit can you recover, miss a few laps and then help your team mate maintain a break? No.snedden9485 wrote:Whatever mate. It is teams event and that's how it us ridden. Various other teams had people other than their 4 man team working for them.
