how did you get the TM to 6.0 kg. Im looking at a 2011 size 50 on ebay atm and he claims weight is 1.65kg for frame fork seatpost headset and cups?????
I extrapolate that out with my light stuff from the Tarmac/trek and I come in at over 7 kg!!!!!!!!
Here's the break down (as per the top bike in the photos) weighed on kitchen scales:
Frame total - 1562grams
Frame 55cm: 922g
Fork: (326g uncut) 288g
Seat post: 240g
Headset + cap & etc: 112g
SRAM RED 2013 Group set - 1786grams
DT SWISS carbon tubular wheel set + tires & skewers - 1752gram
Build kit - 844grams
3T stem - 132g
3T ergosum - 206g
Handlebar tape - 88g
Seat - 154g
Look keos Pedals - 209g
Elite Cages - (28g + 27g) 55g
Then weighed at 2 different lbs: 6.01kg & 5.98kg
Easier for me to just round off and say 6.00kg.
FWIW: the weight is great, but more importantly the ride quality is awesome.
Stiff, stable and compliant. It's won me over!
It seams your big weight saving is the tubs. My 38mm cc with latex tubes and michelin pro light tyres still weigh 2030g inc skewers and red13 cassette.
How do you find the fit of the bmc. The seam a large build.
At 5'9" im contemplating a size 50 over the 53. And may need to run a setback post and slightly longer stem

Flex5150 - I'm 182cm, fit is bang on. Stems are 120mm
According to BMC, a 55cm like mine should fit you. Coincidentally I'm looking to sell one (now that I am not racing), but I wouldn't sell you mine, because the best fit for you at 5' 9" (175cm) is most likely a 53cm.
As far as ride goes, I couldn't be happier. I'm a bike sl#t and have no allegiance to any brand. They are all pretty much made in the same factory for crying out loud, but for some reason the 2010- 2011 Team machines with the BB30 and Polymer seat post, is a super stiff, super comfy ride. Like I said, it's won me over.
My tubs are essentially Reynolds 46s tubs re-branded (Not the cheaper "Assaults" that give Reynolds a bad name when they fall apart or delaminate coming down hills). Both use the same DT Swiss 240 hubs, same Reynolds 46mm rims and same spokes, except DT swiss paint theirs white. I'm also fairly happy with them.
If you are comparing them to your 38mm cc, weights may not be too dissimilar. Add the weight of a sram red 10 speed cassette and get your self some Ti skewers, I'm guessing there's probably not much difference.

You'd still be at 6.6kg and there's plenty of fat in that if you wanted to go lower.

Flex5150 - Im not totally clear on what exactly you're asking. Sorry.
If its about the fit, the team machine IS a "race" fit, just like the sl4, but only ever so slightly more up right IMHO.
That said a stem, and normal drops instead of compact drops, will get you the same 3 contact points (butt, hands, and feet), as any "race" fit bike. Don't let those marketing guys confuse you with their mumbo jumbo, you'll be pretty low and flat on it. Not TT flat, but flat.
It terms of "enduro" or "performance" fit, it's not like a Roubaix. It's 9/10ths towards a sl4, and I only use that as an example cos I've ridden one and judging by your signiture line so have you.
If you mean the DT Swiss tubs they are quoted at 1200g on their own.
I can't verify that though, sorry. I stuck the tyres on before I weighed them.
Else 1752grams all up.
If you mean the ksyriums SLRs they are 1531grams (2200+/- with tires, tubes and skewers.
The mavic skewers are nearly 100grams on their own.
If I was a weight weenie, I give them the flick. Haha
Thanks dimis. The tarmac was very comfortable. The madone H1 is pure race with the slammed stem so the higher head of the bmc will be a nice point of difference.
Now ill just keep a lookout for a frame.
Judging by the bmc site size 53 looks right.
Wow what a beast. I've got a soft spot for Madones. It's a very high tech frameset IMO.

Pawnii I'm jealous I was aiming at sub 6000. Just dont know whats left other than removing one cage and the bar fly thats about 30g but Its cheating if it then goes straight back on isnt it?
haha yeah that would b cheating a bit. I feel like i'm cheating taking my Garmin off.
I train with a ultegra chain and cassette so technically i'm not under 6kg.
It's hard to go sub 6 with a standard groupset. You can shave quite a bit off by changing to lightweight brakes and cranks. (stiffer also)
Changing your cables to Alligator iLinks is a cheap way to shave 50 grams without sacrificing ride blah blah blah
