I did my first (or second) century, does having 2.5 hours rest inbetween count as a century
Anyways, todays 100km were with no real rest stops or feeding, I only stopped for a few min near the LG building in the m7 for water, other than that I didn't stop at all and didn't eat anything.
At the 72km mark I was still doing 30kph avg, but from about 65km I started feeling the fatigue and it was a torture from there on.
trip tims: 3:38:41
avg spd : 27.45
distance : 100,05
avg cad : 80
max speed: 53.2
My last attempt was 106km with 2.5 hours rest inbetween with an avg speed of around 24kph, so I've improoved in the last 2-3months.
Thanks for reading.
Hey, well done mate. I'd include your first century so this is your second, but it was done in one hit and hence a step up in itself.
Don't you hate that feeling of slipping into 'survival mode' with 30km to go
More to come mate, more to come
I had a good bike ... so I fixed it
Thanks for the replys,
I've never ridden on the shoulder of motorways before, I might try it sometime, although I would prefer to have someone experinced with me...
Yeah I really couldn't wait to get home, around the 70km mark I run out of water all the sudden but I was heading on the m7 southbound and remembered there was a tap near the LG building,
I was really tyred and hungry, so I ate and drunk heaps. after one or two hours I am feeling much better and and 6 hours later,(now) I barely feel anything.
The 106km I did several weeks ago I had a pain in the right leg above the knee about the 60-70km mark, and the pain continued for 3-4 days after that.
I am usually averaging around 25-27kph(highest 28.7) for 40-50 km mainly on the m7, but that involves lots of traffic lights and three nasty hills on the way back, the long one one the m7, the one at Elizabeth dr, and the one on Cawposture rd. From now on, on the weekends I'll start using Ferrers rd like I did today because its the fastest way to the m7 from the Prospect cycle path, just one roundabout in the way to get to the m7
