can this be done using the regular stem clamp mount? I have a Cateye Astrale 8 and I can see they sell 2 different mounts

the mount looks the same except maybe for the bottom clamp part. i'm thinking just remove the clamp and strap the mount to the stem?

I do not own that brand of computer. I would guess that they are ever so slightly different. you may be able to use the bar mount on the stem but the screen will then be at 90 deg and you will have to look at it sideways as you ride

I've got a vague memory of a long dead Cateye with a similar mount.
Investigate possible removal of the clamp from the cradle leaving something suitable. Proceed with caution!

Cateye have all of their instruction sheets online - google it. If you can do it with your mount, it will show you how on the instruction sheet.

hi all, i removed the bar clamp but there's no way to pass through a zip tie.

i did download the manual for the astrale and there's an optional bracket for stem mount.

At first thought, mounting it at the center stem would look good and balanced, however sweat might drop on the computer. has anyone experienced this?

seems like mounting on one side of the handlebar would be a better option to avoid sweat dropping on it.

On my Sigma bike computer. I undid 4 screws on the mount rotated it 90 degrees and replaced the screws. I seem to recall I did it on a cateye mount to but I can't find it to check.
