Saddle Preferences & Bike Set-up

Hi All,

As the title suggests. What do you have now, what can you recommend? Also, where can I go on the northside of brissy to get me and my bike looked at to make sure we fit together and make adjustments accordingly.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I have 2 Brooks saddles and recommend them. One of the most comfortable saddles money can buy. The hard part is getting the right one for the application.

Others worth considering are VO saddles or Selle Anatomica. I haven't tried either, but have read that the Selle Anatomica are likely the most comfortable saddle at any price. Whether that is worth twice to three times the price of a basic Brooks is debatable.

In the end, any saddle you don't notice on a long ride is a winner. The right Brooks saddles can do this.

I used to have a Rolls about 16 years ago. They are comfortable but made me numb.

I have always used Selle Italia saddles, which are great, but recently changed to a prologo scratch ti saddle which I must say is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden.

Specialized Toupe, the most comfortable saddle I've owned.

People who can't take Toupes sometimes prefer Fizik saddles.

My current saddle is a Fizik Alliante Versus (with the perineal cutout). I get no low back pain on 2hr+ rides on this saddle.

However I found my previous saddle a tad more comfortable on the sit bones - selle Italia max flite gel, but some back aching forced me to change.

Just going to have to try a few saddles and find what works for you.

Going by what has been written in previous Brooks threads they are good if you have a relatively upright position on the bike. The nose up positioning is going to hurt if you are racing in an aero position. Those who recommend them don't race AFAIK.
