Racing Masters C, looking at two years ago Masters C was faster than C Grade, last year C Grade was harder than Masters C, so this year...who know... the ballat system may have put some off but Masters C is full.

I will be racing Masters C. I have been training for 6 weeks now for ToB in Masters C and will be happy with a top 20 TT and summit Hotham. Oh...also do okay at the Sprint Eliminator.

You may not be able to get into good form for ToB, it depends on what you want to do...just finish...then continue riding, do 100k rides Sat and Sun to get the distance in.

i've done a few vic state open races this year and noticed that Masters C has frequently been faster than Open C and i think on occasion, even Masters B..

i just want to be able to ride in the bunch. it's a waste of time if i get dropped at 5km point. i would have had loftier ambitions, were it not for my circumstances.

First Prime is at 10ks - as it was last year there were a lot of surges and had to be watchful but then settled down and the race really didn't start until the bottom of Tawonga Gap...that was in C though. Masters shall be interesting this year.

So masters b is the equivalent of state level b? If so I'm in a world of trouble. I ride state level d-e

I assumed that masters would be slower than opens!

It was last year....we wont know until the flag drops in Bright this year.

In TAS, A State = B Club and so forth.

C Grade at Bright = A-C Grade.

Oh dear. In nsw if you are a master rider you have to be exceptional to be riding a&b state level.

That sounds like a lot of km! Hope you recover by the weekend and can get back into it.

Spare a thought for a mate of mine who found out on Monday that he got a place after missing out on the first round... in A Grade. He had 10 days to prepare, lucky he hasn't been bludging too much but I think he was looking forward to coming down and just racing the sprintfest :D
