I will be racing Masters C. I have been training for 6 weeks now for ToB in Masters C and will be happy with a top 20 TT and summit Hotham. Oh...also do okay at the Sprint Eliminator.
You may not be able to get into good form for ToB, it depends on what you want to do...just finish...then continue riding, do 100k rides Sat and Sun to get the distance in.

i've done a few vic state open races this year and noticed that Masters C has frequently been faster than Open C and i think on occasion, even Masters B..nailsaslegs wrote: Racing Masters C, looking at two years ago Masters C was faster than C Grade, last year C Grade was harder than Masters C, so this year...who know...
i just want to be able to ride in the bunch. it's a waste of time if i get dropped at 5km point. i would have had loftier ambitions, were it not for my circumstances.nailsaslegs wrote:You may not be able to get into good form for ToB, it depends on what you want to do...just finish...then continue riding, do 100k rides Sat and Sun to get the distance in.

I assumed that masters would be slower than opens!

In TAS, A State = B Club and so forth.
C Grade at Bright = A-C Grade.

Spare a thought for a mate of mine who found out on Monday that he got a place after missing out on the first round... in A Grade. He had 10 days to prepare, lucky he hasn't been bludging too much but I think he was looking forward to coming down and just racing the sprintfest
