first time clipless

bought my first ever clip less shoes felt great uphills but fell over twice very embarrassing lots cars nearby must have looked hilarious anyway a bit sore is this common and how long does it take to get the hang of it.thanks rob

Not long mate, just keep practising and pay attention - when you are going to need to stop, get your foot out nice and early. What brand are you using? Some are easier to disengage than others and have little tricks.
One general tip I'll give you is to make sure your foot is FLAT when you twist. Twisting and reefing it upwards at the same time (like when you're in a panic trying to get your foot out!) usually makes the cleat bind a bit harder and stick.

I've fallen 3 time in the last 8yrs...all happened in the first 3mths.
Experience is everything. Keep at it

Sometimes when I stop at lights I dont unclip my shoes.. Just slow down and grab the light pole... then one day I missed the pole... Gave the car drivers something to laugh at
