Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.
Looking for people in the hervey bay area to ride with. I'm new to road biking, had a 3 speed for 6months now I just got my 1st real road bike with 105 groupset. I'm 27, in pretty decent shape. At the moment I just ride to keep in shape, but if i find a group and find I can keep up id be interested in getting into racing. I have no idea how to go about finding local groups or just locals that also ride. Getting pretty boring riding by my self!
Thanks

If you have no luck here try http://www.fcbug.org.au/site/ and local bike shops (although I checked 3 shop webpages and no mention of shop rides - or facebook links)
Aus motorists are safe to kill a cyclist at any time & confident that they will be protected from any serious penalties.

Hi.
Ive been road riding for roughly 8 weeks now and ride twice a week for roughly 2hrs each time.
Live locally within hervey bay and ride by myself.
Your more than welcome to join, but i tend to ride about 6am.

I'm up there from the 4-10-17 and will be looking for some group rides, if there are any.

I have just had a quick look on Strava - the "segment explore" screen - and a dozen Strava segments immediately popped up. The first one I clicked on had a leader board of 2005 participants, which is 4% of the Hervey Bay population, equivalent to a leader board of 160,000 in Sydney. Clearly there is no shortage of cyclists in Hervey Bay.

Have a look at the Fraser Coast Cycling Club. They have different rides for different skill levels. Perfect place to learn skills and meet new people plus its a good entry into racing.
