Wasn't sure how I'd go as I hadn't done a road ride since my UK trip 5 weeks ago, just gym work. My HRM strap broke this week, so I didn't have that working, just the watch and haven't had a bike computer for a couple of years now. Did the 25km and the 'out' was every bit as hard as I remembered (and then some), but conditions were good, coolish and no wind as far as I could tell. Thought I'd overcooked it on the way out, but felt pretty good once I'd turned around.
I usually look at my watch about 2kms out from 'blood hill' and today it said 38mins blink! That can't be right I thought. I put the hammer down to the bottom of the hill and climbed it fairly hard but was mindful to leave something for the flat run home. Buried myself for the final 2kms and crossed the line in 47.49, a 3min40sec PB for me

Knackered now, had a date with the sofa all afternoon
