250w yeah right

According to Strava 250W gets me very close to 40 kmph on a somewhat undulating but overall level road so my question is, what average speed did you record to catch him?

It's 250W up to 25km/hr, not at all speeds, isn't it?

Yes. I.e. no assistance over 25km/h. These numnuts either upgrade their motors, or remove limiters. Either way, they are unregistered, unroadworthy motor bikes

@jasonc Looks like she had right of way, and you were obligated to yield and slow down. What am I missing?

What you are missing is that she was in the continuing lane while Jason was in the slip lane & she changed lanes without looking

I hate this turn! I'm always worried someone is going to clean me up coming out of the tunnel. I'm always looking to the right to see if anyone is coming, but usually there are 30 people behind you so you cant really slow down too much. I always thought I was meant to be giving way, but this picture has cleared it up for me!

There is no give way sign. There are two lanes.

Yes she is on the dividing line, but your behind merging into one lane so she has right of way, and also give way to your right. In the end your undercutting her.

Not sure on your sky art work skills  but yes she does begin merging a little early 5-6m, but hardly worth the undercut with talking to IMO. Not great riding by both.

She isn't supposed to merge at all.
She basically just swerved into the slip lane when she was on the main road.

But great riding by the Fred who uses the altercation to make a breakaway.

Poor chick, gets someone turning in front of her (note he well crosses white lines into tunnel  ) an earful from the left, while overtake on the right.

She's heading for left of the 'ONE' lane thats starts just after the point of your red arrow or at the ped crossing. Rider in slip lane is still behind and therefor has to give way. It really is a non event.

It's not "give way", it's "avoid collision" due to illegal lane change over unbroken line.
Which he does.

It's ok. I got him

It's a major thoroughfare. Major source of bike traffic from the western suburbs. Hence the reason for the slip lane. If everyone holds their line, it works

I can't understand the calls of give way etc. Who among you can see a give way sign... I mean it is a sliplane and then a merge.
The rider on the main line has merged into the slip lane cutting off the videoing rider. any other decision is victim blaming.

Ok I am really old and know nothing... But if i turn into a sliplane on a main road, and a vehicle coming along cuts me off; that, my friends is a law breaker.

What this really shows is what happens when a car-dominated culture starts riding bikes again. People continue to act like aggro motorists.

She was just riding along, maybe not like a perfect little car driver, but good enough for bikes.

Time for some jets to be cooled, I reckon!

I would suggest she hadn't used the infrastructure before which may have resulted in the confusion

I wonder if blue eyes can be booked for 'incorrect use of a helmet' since the straps go through the mouth and not under the chin. :P

There may or may not been a dumbass who went for a ride down to La Perouse and only on the way back did a kind gentleman point out a new standard helmet this dumbass was "wearing".

When this was pointed out to this dumbass the moment of confusion of the words filtering through that thick skull and the reach up to the head and only touching beanie.

This dumbass apparently left his/her house thinking the beanie that kept his/her head warm was a helmet and left the helmet on the table.

The flashes of odd/doubletakes/Say What looks given by other passing cyclists may have flashed through this numbskulls unprotected head and everything may have fell into place in that head.

Looks like the dumbass made it home passing a police car without incident.

So the story goes...

Thanks John!

I almost did it the other day lol.
Was about to ride away from the car when noticed I was lacking chin strap.
Testament to helmet being as comfortable as any hat.

^^ You mean said dumbass rode his/her bike without wearing a helmet and survived!? It’s almost as if that particular activity has a low risk of incident and he/she was just making a decision regarding his/her own safety that really shouldn’t be judged by others. You could even go as far as saying he/she wasn’t a dumbass at all and was just being an active member of society. But I guess this isn’t Denmark.

Wasn't a good time to ride a horse while there was a race on, I'm wondering if the local residents were informed.

The horse rider should of been riding to the left, being in the middle of the lane meant that the individual cyclists had to cross the centre line to give good clearance. Yes I understand the need to claim the road, but this wasn't the right time to do it.

With the cyclist to the left I'm guessing that he went down the left as an evasive action to avoid hitting the horse or a cyclist, possibly only the cyclist will know
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?
