BBC Article on Australian cycling and time to get naked???

Postby gdl_gdl » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:57 pm

Hi All,

First time poster to the forum.

I read this article on the bbc website about the cycling explosion in Australia. It's a good general article and is laced with a dose of realism about the dangers faced on two wheels.

It also refers to a cycling naked day in March!! I think I'll give that one a miss!!

Cheers,

Gary

Interesting article (thanks for the link).

The naked riders claim "When we ride without clothes we get respect"... does he think that the drivers slow down out of respect?

Doesn't matter why they slow down, as long as they do. ;)

I hope they wear their helmet otherwise they might cop a fine. The major problem I see is where to stick the energy bar to eat during the ride.

I'm trying to decide whether to comment on the obvious place or whether to moderate that post because of the image it raises of the obvious place or whether to moderate this post because it refers to the obvious place or ... :D

Not from me.

I'm thinking they'll only get nasty chaffing where the sun doesn't shine.

It's people like this who give us real cyclists a bad name.
If they want to get their gear off then don't involve bikes and have us real cyclist labeled out there hippy weirdos.

We'd get respect if we carried weapons.
