So he felt sorry for me and left this:-

New Orbea 2009 Onix Carbon frame design
Shimano Ultegra SL build
Shimano RS 20 wheel set - Upgrade coming soon.

Mad Greek

What's the Orbea like to ride?

I'll be getting a belated Xmas present of a Giant TCR Advance 1, or the Orbea, and can't make up my mind.

Heaps of info out there on the Giant, but not the Vento.

Enjoy
It's a dream to ride. I looked at the TCR A1, but in the flesh it looked crap. The Vento is great in the hill climbs and the descents - at the end of the day it's from the Pyrenees.

I took a gamble in buying the bike, I didn't test ride any of them. I also looked at the Cervelo S1, but for looks at price the Orbea won me over.
It's also true what they say, once you go carbon, there is no looking back.
I also like the free wheeling on the Shimano rims, there is no rachett noise, so decsending is stealth like.

I saw the 09 TCR Advanced 1 last week and thought it was one of the best of the 09 series bikes released.

I liked the Orbea in the flesh. The white is metallic so it has a slight sparkle to it.
huge bling factor with that sparkle!

My wonderful wife presented me with a Trek / Volkswagen jersey (I am a VW fan) and socks and a subscription to Bicycling Australia.

And I shouted myself membership of Dutton's Cycling Club and therefore Cycling Australia.

Cheers
Dave.

The big fella gave me a Canon 1000d digital slr camera, with an extra 75 to 300mm lens.Very Happy. My eldest son started to doubt the big fella till I made him aware if you don't believe you don't receive.I told him Santa represents the spirit of giving,so therefore dad believes in Santa as well.Goodwill to all.

It's been mentioned before as a "Breza" and is advertised that way, but if you have a closer look at the script...

I'm glad he didnt leave that...the decals on the wheels are nearly as nasty as the new Giant scheme! But something I'm sure all of us could learn to suffer through.

Santa bought me a packet of 4 avocados (equal to 10 lobsters for those confused among you) to do with what I please, and a hose reel (no more leaving the hose laying in the backyard for weeks at a time any more!)

Pretty quiet one from the big man to myself cause the kids got loaded up proper.
