I guess this doesn't count, but might be worth trying.

I was out for a ride this morning, and got a call from my wife to come and change a flat tyre on my car... Technically is was "my" flat, but not on my "bike", but then again I was on my bike when on the way to fix it.

had no puncture repair kit with me, thank goodness the lady friend was able to come & get me as i was 30kms from home with no $$ for the train.

Please remember everyone - K's between flats is only for kilometres since the 1'st of January. No point telling us you have done 5k-K or 10k-K for your first flat, because I just don't believe you!

And it would be really helpful to post up you running total so I can avoid having seniors moments (I turned 40 this month and promptly lost the wedding ring... until I stepped on it the following morning).

Riding down a steep hill on my daughters mountain bike the other day, with about 25% brake function, so my feet on the ground. I don't no what I went over but sudden and complete deflation of both tyre resulted.

Do I score two - 2 tyres punctured; none - Iwas an idiopt for even being there with no brakes; or bonus points - 'cause it truly scared the sh out of me!

I'm up to 3 now after another puncture in the rain yesterday morning

After 1613.29k for this year I went out to the bike to head off and the back tire was flat as. Checked the tire and found noting in it so I took out the spare tube and put it in but it had a hole in it.(Not from the tire has I checked it pretty well) Thank fully I had a spare tube for my wife's bike so in it went and away I went.

Lucky it went down at home so total for the year is
1 at 1613.29k per puncture.

At least I got through January.

This morning riding past a metal furniture restorer workshop (approx 400m from home), the rear picked up a nice large U shaped nail or metal fragment of some sort. New tube and possibly a new tyre needed as it went through to the rim @25km/hr.

Off the mark for the year yesterday, fortunately did not happen until right at the end of the commute in, so was able to change it during lunch. Cracked valve stem, so tube unsalvageable

So 1 wicket down for 336kms!

Could not find any debris, so decided I would change tube anyway.

2 - 5M later... psssssst... bugga!

Could not find any debris again. But, I did find a hole in the tire wall. Remembered that you could use a $ note to fix that temporarily. Decided to use a patch to fix tube rather than use a new one because I still had ~24.5km home.

3 - Pumped up tire. Put wheel back on... pssssssssst... BUGGGGGGA!

Patch failed. Replaced with new tube and rode slowly home via back roads - the idea of a front wheel blow out at ~60km/h heading down Spit Road with a car close behind.

Event free, but unexciting ride home after that.

Just have to peep at this thread every so often...weird considering I lived here when living in Sydney ...very hard to get punctures on ice,but damn scary smoking up the rear wheel without warning every few seconds!.

I hate these newfangled let the glue dry patches, I had very few failures using the old stick the patches on when the glue was tacky routine, and they were quicker.

Gotta be very careful with the modern one, rush them because your going to be late for work and pssst down she goes. Spares are great but what happens when you run out.
