OK so obviously everyone names their bikes...right...?
I found that there was an issue having a bike with the same name as anyone I'd ever met in my life, because it makes saying "I've been riding Julie around all day" a bit strange if Julie happened to be your teacher in grade 4..and also cos i'm picky...anyway, I'm interested to know what and why people have named their bikes. For interests sake, mine's Ophelia, mainly because I'd recently fallen off when I named her, and concluded that she was a bit nuts
Also, thankfully, I've never met an Ophelia.

"Foldy", "Townie" and "Racey"
For folding bike, hub geared hybrid with rack, and CF road bike respectively.

My bike's name is Jenny (Craig) because she is helping me with my weight loss programme. I don't know any Jennys so no unfortunate imagery .

I have Scotty (Scott CF road bike), Blade (Avanti Blade Sport hybrid), and Lumpy (Trek mountain bike that I hate riding and therefore never ride). Not really original I know
My husband has 3 bikes too and none of them have names except Limey - he got a Bicycle Victoria Free Lime Green Bike when he did the Albany to Perth Great Bike Ride last year. Despite the constant cycling, I don't think he has "the bug" yet which explains the lack of names. If I were him, I would name his Giant CF road bike Brumby as it has thrown him off a couple of times

I have 'the girlie bike' (Alchemy- she's in my avatar) and Tojo (Shogun Katana) and used to have an un-named mtb, but it got nicked a few weeks ago. Don't ask me why the girlie bike is the girlie bike, because I don't know - after all, she's not pink .
I almost have an un-named mystery bike, who will probably be called Enzo (because the frame is Ferrari red) when it (he?) is finished - hopefully in a couple of weeks now.
