A comrad falls...

Postby Mr888 » Wed Apr 11, 2007 10:24 pm

I am very sad to report that a fellow cyclist and close workmate of mine lost his his life today in a tragic cycling accident.

Whilst on a training ride yesterday afternoon he slammed in to a suddenly opened car door. Reports say that he flew five metres and landed on his head. He wasn't wearing a helmet :x

He will be sadly missed

Please remember to always wear a helmet and don't be complacent

That's terrible and very sad loss of life for a measly $70 helmet.

Vary sorry to hear that.

After a few close calls recently, I am taking much more care.

Sadly, too many people do not even look for cyclists.

Very sad.

A very good reason to always ride with a helmet

Thats Terrible

I am truely sorry to hear that.

Always wear a helmet. Australian Standards provide a 20kph rating for the helmet.
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

Only if it's the right size and fitted well. Kiss that spec good-bye if it's a poor fit and not strapped down properly. One more thing, throw that helmet away (cut it so that no one else can use it) after any impact on the foam shell. Further, a 3 years old helmet should be considered as expired if it has been out in the sun for a significant part of its life.

Mate, I'm so sorry to hear that, condolences to his family and you.

Yes a helmet is vital, but I hope the dill who doored him is being spoken to severely.

Yes that was him.

He was suppose to be in our BRW/BP Ultimate Triathlon team this Sunday, so this tragic accident has affected all of us badly. We will be honouring him at the triathlon by wearing black armbands.

Thanks everyone for your words of sympathy
