Surprised at fitness!

Postby Cluey » Sat Apr 21, 2007 9:33 pm

Well, after several weeks (about 10 or so now of owning a bike) I must say that I am surprised at the fitness level cycling affords!

Due to unprecedented weight gain (4 kilos on a little person is a lot!) I decided that this bike game has left me eating too much and doing too little in return .... so I went for a run today to get back into some 'real' exercise....

But - to my surprise - I ran 10 km in probably better time - or at least comparitive time (5 minute kms) than days of old despite not running for months...

So I might be finally converting to those who say biking is just as good - less the joint pain...

Dunno bout the weight gain though - same diet, same everthing but HEAVVVVYYYY :(

Like the others (well, Mulger Bill, anyway) have said - it's more a matter of shape / strength that outright weight loss. How do you think you look - do you look like you're carrying extra body fat?

Wish I could delude myself that it was muscle but clothes are difinitely tighter... but shape is different too .... maybe from the cycling? Can't work it out for the life of me. So.... I'm fit... but fat.... hmmm.
