Medical ID tags/bracelets

Postby gorilla monsoon » Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:27 pm

Have seen advertised in the US and UK the velcro bracelet-style ID tags that can have a lot of detail engraved on them and are worn on the wrist. I'd like to know if they are readily available here though.
Do bike shops have them (haven't seen any at the local shops) or is it more likely that an engraving place like Mt Minute would have them?
At the moment I have a wrinkled-up business card and a photocopy of my driver's licence in a ziplock bag in my zipped-up bike bag.

In one of the UK mags, levi Leipheimer was shown wearing one - can't remember the name, but have seen it locally advertised somewhere.

I have a ROADID and have found it to be perfect for what I wanted.

Well it doesnt come from a local source.... not many things do these days. It is available here though :( Delivery was pretty quick from memory and with the $ at over 80c price is better than when I got mine too :x .

I know it's somewhat unrelated, but in my phone I have an "in case of emergency" number under "ICE", I think that there is a movement to get people to do this so people know who to call if something happens. obviously call the bloody ambulance first, but still good to know family would be notified easily

He is wearing a RoadID one ... they sponsor him.

I also have one and if I forget to wear it, I feel that I am riding "naked." Not something you would like to see :)

Know how you feel.... I forgot to slip the wedding ring back on this morning before I left the hotel. Have been freaking all day, just doesnt feel right.

Edit: Just read that back to myself and it sounds pretty bad. I take my wedding ring off when showering, forgot to put it back on after that. Nothing more to it

  Would it be more convincing if I said im in Tassie?? If it was a Kings Cross hotel room then I might have trouble convincing most people.
