Advice on buying anothre bike, Avanti Sprint 05

hey , i seen a second hand bike for sale thats an avanti sprint 05, My question is what are these bikes like? Also the gears look like a crappy shimano style ie not even sora whould it be possible to swap my sora gears from my apollo to the avanti? would it just be a waste of time? What would an avanti sprint be worth new? cheers guys
