Accident caused by poor design of bike paths being given pedestrian priority in traffic.

Also incentive to practice emergency stops before you need to use one.

Damn good advertising for helmets though.

a 46-year-old cyclist was killed after being struck by a car in Mandurah.

Police said the man was not wearing a helmet and failed to give way to traffic at the intersection of Peel and Sutton streets at 5.50pm.

Another cyclist lost yesterday and was not wearing a helmet. Maybe it wouldn't have saved him but we'll never know. (Sounds like he was at fault but it's still a tragedy.)
