He,he, can't wait to make up for it over the next six days though  ...

I am in for a lean time of it from Easter for 2 weeks. We are going on holidays and I am still trying to convince the bride to let me take my bike.

I'm at work.. and while I've asked my boss to let me perform my duties while riding, he hasn't bought into it just yet... so thinking about red lines is all I have between the hours of 9-5 (or, let's face it,1pm on a Friday)

I keep my bike behind my desk at work. The lads were trying to work out how to secure a flat sceen monitor to the handlebars for me yesterday. It is possible, though finding a location for the pc, mouse and keyboard were a bit more of a challenge. I should have taken a picture lol

i've had a bad week this last week, someone broke a spoke on my bike in the bike cage at work, so had to get that fixed, it stole 2 daily commutes from me. :x

missed out on weekend rides as i was down in margaret river drinking far far far too much champagne.

but i'm back on track now, until this weekend. when the wheels will fall off again.

Nix wrote:Until I get my bikejournal up and running (tried it at home on the wifes computer but still didn't work), can someone tell me where the red line is for the end of March?
**Edit** What I actually want to know is how does BJ calculate the red line... is it daily (16.44km p/day), weekly (115.38 p/week) or just monthly (500 p/month regardless of how many days)
What about four weekly? What time of day is the update applied?
My big concern is, how will it all work out when the time system goes metric?

Norbs!
What happened to your Friday 50kms? I have just hit the 60's and thought you'd be there too.

So where are you holidaying? Surely you can squeeze in the bike and kit. :(

Got dumped pretty heavily in the surf in the morning so didn't get on the bike. Still a bit sore today, but will try and get out this afternoon.

Driving from South Coast NSW to the Barossa Valley for a couple of weeks. The bike is going, but I doubt I will put in huge mileage.

Not a member of the 6k club, I was less ambitious 5500k, but close enough to be a junior member ;-)

But doing a little better than the 100km a week I need to reach my target.

If nobody objects, I'll just add the updates monthly.
Feel free to object however. :D

Slipperier than a Teflon Eel covered in baby oil!

I am being belted. Stomach bug on the weekend, now it is persisting down! I was looking at an 800km month too. Feck.

I know from my other hobby, photography, how much money a hobby can cost, but to kit the bike and me up for wet weather riding is stupidly expensive. And I need some lights too.

Anyone need a kidney? :D

I know the feeling Norbs... I need lights BADLY.. I've taken to driving 10 minutes down the road to a well lit stretch of road (riding on my road at any time is dangerous but in the dark with crappy lights is just plain suicidal) just so I can get some morning km's in..
Haven't got the wet weather riding gear yet but have been able to work rides around the weather or just heading out and hoping I don't come down with bird flu.. once winter really sets in though I think I might be talking to wifey about an "investment in my long term health"

In other news, the cement has set and I'm ahead of the red line finally (1593km) and have 2 x 100km+ rides planned for this weekend which will help me get April off to a good start.. should be close to 2000km by this time next week with great riding weather down in Vic all weekend!

Wet weather advice. HTFU and just get wet. It only happens once a ride!

Irrespective of what you wear you will get wet anyway. If you wear wet weather gear (which generally doesn't breathe overly well) you are likely to sweat and therefore get wet. If you don't, well that is fairly obvious.

The only gear I'd really recommend are proper glasses that protect your eyes from raindrops.

The main thing to protect yourself from is the cold. Toes and fingers are the first thing to go. Everything else follows.
