Hey people,
I bought the above bike a few days ago and love it.
Does anyone have more info on them especially year made.
Colour is white pearl with orange malvern star stickers.
12 speed with friction shifters on the drop tube.
The blue seat has malvern star and blue handlebar tape.
Araya rims and via stamped hubs.
Sakae sa crank.
Sunrace cassette.
Cromo seamless tubing double butted.
Runs a sanyo dynapower lighting system but thats useless info.
Oh, distributed by 'industries' sticker.
I would love to know if its about the same age as me, 1983.
Its my best buy ever for 30 bucks. Even has alloy guards rear Pannier rack and bags!
Pete

No one knows anything?
I'm still yet to find info on the bike itself but the shimano gearing dates from '84 and I found a bit of info on the Sakae (sr) components.
Nothing flash but not bottom of the range either.
Single speed conversion is on the books anyway.

Does it have any Shimano components? If so these would have a date code which could give you a clue, see Sheldons info on Shimano: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_sa-o.html#shimano

cool, I now have a date. Shimano brakes read feb 85 and front and rear derailers are jan 85. SR crank 84. Looks consistent with no parts changed which shows this gear really lasts as it was a canberra commuter for many years. Just noticed the chain is made in france.
Thanks.
Thanks.
