It would need to run Sram so it sounds as loud as possible, and have at least one frame tube coated only with primer

after all those dodgy badge engineered bikes, finally a bike that adds something of genuine novelty/value. that looks awesome.
mclaren are claiming a 23 watt saving at 45 km/h

I love how they describe the bikes:

Mini has just announced a folding bike. Costs 499 euro. Weighs 11kg and can fold to fit in the boot of a Mini.

With most of the automobile companies realising that the dawn of electric vehicles is now upon us, the VW bik.e is just the latest addition to it's fleet of electric vehicles. The bik.e resembles a normal bike but without the pedals. It has a 12.5 mile range, a top speed of 12.5 mph, and most impressively, the bike can easily fold into a disc that fits in a car's spare tire compartment.
So technically it is a scooter. No pedals?

Yeah, it's a mini electric scooter if it doesn't have pedals. But still interesting nonetheless, it's designed to be a secondary/ancillary/backup form of transport to be stored in the car.
Though it may potentially just be encouraging people to do even less exercise? I.e. you drive into town. Take out the bik.e and use that for your small trips instead of just walking around or riding into town int he first place.
It just reminds me of smug hybrid drivers who think they are saving the world because they drive a hybrid car.. it just doesn't work like that in real life. A car is a car. Saving some small amount on fuel consumption and emissions means nothing in the big picture.

I'm not a huge cruiser fan, but that is pretty cool.
Felt Bicycles, a maker of competition bikes, and our favorite Mustang tuner, Carroll Shelby, have collaborated on a custom cruiser bike that pays homage to the classic Shelby GT350. The Shelby Cruiser will be limited in production but available worldwide for a price of $999.
