Most of the "found" Bicycles in my .....collection........ seem to have 700c tubes in 27" tyres , only problem I can see is a little wear around the valve area ? maybe they wiggle in the case ? However my father , ( who is tighter than me - oh wait , more economical ! ) is riding a beautiful Bennet race / tourer , fully racked and guarded , with perished tyres and new 700c tubes ! ! This is because the 700c were ' cheaper ' From memory they are 700 X 32 so an equivalent to 27 x 1andaqtr ..... mind you i offered to buy dad some $13 tyres from BigW , but he felt that the ones he has still have some "go" in them !
