Hi Getting near that time to start a new thread for the 2011 ACF Bike Journal "Fit" Gits on Bikes Fun comp. We started this in 2008 and it ran well in 2009 and 2010, so here it is again in 2011. NOTE: If you want the progress bar in your signature please click here to set it up. Thanks to Philip for doing this. Any questions about the bar should be posted in this thread or otherwise PM Philip. caffeine has established a pretty cool ranking table for this Club and the sub-clubs. You can check it out here.If you need assistance with BikeJournal, this tutorial may help. For 2011 the competition is very much slimmed down and there will be no prize on offer. There are now only three rules for 2011: (1) Outside rides only please (2) If you are an active forum member (at least ten posts and a regular participant) want to join in, you are most welcome. If you are not already in the competition, please join the Australian Cycling Forums Club (your primary club) at Bike Journal. If you are not an active forum member please become one before joining the club. The whole idea of this competition if for forum members to have a little competitive fun. Non-active members of the Club may be removed without further notification. (4) Please post a note here when you join so we know not to remove you! (3) Please play fair and log your rides regularly so your fellow competitors now what they are up against (4) Rankings as at December 31, 2011 are determined by the primary club rankings (My Club at BJ) Enjoy .... Andrew

Well I'm in. This year has been my best year to date, even tho I have not made initial goal and did reduce it to 6k, but saw I was going to make that and increased it to 7k. Pushing 10k next year all depending on my ankle.

I'm in. Will be logging every single KM in BJ as usual. Probably drop my target to 12000km or perhaps less but I haven't decided yet. The little green bar will have the figure I decide on come 01/01/11.

Well I managed to sign up at Bike Journal so I'll be in for 2011. Might set myself a target of 6,000Km. In the first year (August 2009 to August 2010) I managed 4,500Km but I now take a longer route to work so we'll see how we go. When it gets closer to 2011 I'll work out how to set the target. Maybe I can combine this with a "how many spokes can I break in 6,000Km" comp too!
I might end up playing catch up all year as I'll be going away in January for 3 weeks but we'll see how it goes.

I'm in, thinking I'll go for the 6,666km or maybe I'll even shoot for 10,000? at the moment I am probably at about 4,000k a year from commuting and other rides.... have just joined the bikejournal.

I find myself in a similar dilemma (trying to decide between the 6k and 10k clubs). I have really enjoyed being part of the 6k club this year but in the end I'm looking at at least 7k by years end. That makes me think that the 6666 target is really setting my goal too low but on the other hand I can't see myself finding the extra hours required to get to 10k without it affecting something else in my life adversely. I'm thinking the other option, instead of just increasing my kms is to make them more difficult such as setting a vertical component for my goal, increasing the kms towing my son or some other way I haven't considered yet.

I'm in. Just joined up with the 6k Club as well, so I guess that's my target this coming year. Only been back in the saddle since September, so I think this should be achievable.
Cheers,
Matthew
