Got my first flat today
Schwalbe Marathon Plus (my first EVER flat with these brand of tyres after 16,000km of riding)
Some sort of sharp tack all the way through the puncture "SmartGuard", tip of the tack like a needle pieced the tube. Instant flat

Rode over something I never saw, nor could find on the road afterwards, that slashed my tyre and tube.

Repaired both tubes and put a patch on the tyre as well. Hopefully it's ok to do that?

First of the year for me and 2700km since my last flat (Rubino Pro's).
Tiny slither of metal stuck in the tyre.

Damn - first puncture in at least 6mths/~5000km. Staple in the front tire (Rubino Pro). Made it the 12km to meet the others I ride with, then dead flat tire when we took off a couple of minutes later. Must have picked it up just as I arrived, but didn't hear anything or even notice until I took off again.

Probably due to the flood debris I have been riding through.

I thought I must have replaced the previous flat with a dodgy tube with a leaky repair.
When I took the old tube out and checked if the tyre was leaking from the previous patch, it wasn’t.
Like the previous tube it took me a little while to find it even when the tube was immersed under water.
But eventually I found a miniscule hole.
So like last time I took the tyre off turned it inside out and looked for the offending item. Couldn’t see it.
I then felt around the tube for a 2nd time and found a very small spike (basically invisible to the naked eye).
There was a tiny piece of metal stuck in the tyre. I showed my wife, she couldn’t believe how small it was!
So that’s 2nd for the year (due to not being diligent enough the first time) 36 ks since last puncture.

I had more then a dozen the last 4-5months.
So I really had enough... No offence, but i don't wanna post in this thread anymore...
I personally find a lot of these tyres to soft and can withstand anything, so i am spending to much on tyres and tubes.
So i actually put schwalbe marathons plus on my ksyrium sl's...
that was temporary, so now I have opted for an alternative, the race version of the marathon plus, the durano plus...
Freshly fitted today, and much nicer then the marathons.
I like the puncture resistance layer, besides for the obvious reason , also for the absorbing of the bumps.
It makes the ride very comfy.

Monday - flat back tyre, bit of metal went through it, but I couldn't find it while fixing the puncture. This led to:
Tuesday - flat back tyre. Same symptoms made me suspicious. I felt around the inside of the tyre on Monday night and it was fine. This time I noted the location of the puncture and found the bit of metal. It took until half way through the ride home to actually cause the puncture as it barely made it through the tyre, after the ride in and half the ride home it managed to puncture the tube. At least I found it this time.
Wednesday - go to get bike to ride home, flat front tyre! This looked like a bit of seashell. I ride down the beach so this is a possibility.
So, put me down for 3!
