Ordered a silver edition gopro 3 from Amazon on the 28th and got it today woohoo......
So..... Just wondering what the best settings are for using it on the bike?
The manual doesn't really tell you much.
Congrats
Firstly, you need to grab hold of the manual (PDF from GoPro.com) so you know how to make the following changes.
Turn off wireless. Ensure Pro Tune is turned off. Both drain the battery pretty heavily.
Next, change the video setting to PAL. Then change to 720 (AT) 25 wide. I found the battery drain pretty heavy at highest res and I don't need it.
I also use auto power off when idle for 60 seconds.
Most of the other settings by default are fine.
You will also need to make sure your battery is fully charged and then apply the firmware upgrade. Just follow the instructions, it is pretty easy. I had all sorts of problems until I upgraded the firmware.
If you ride for more than 90 minutes you'll probably be looking at buying the extra battery bacpac. The new battery is not as good as the previous battery.
Other than that, have fun and let us know how you go
