cycle meter down load for HTCHas anyone downloaded a cycle meter program for their phone?
My polar cycle computer is having a major breakdown and fits at the moment and I don't really want to spend 400dollars on a Garmin yet. But I noticed that my friend uses a cycle meter on her IPhone, I don’t have an Iphone but I do have a HTC2 phone and I looked up on the net that there are programs that can be down loaded. I would like to do that but would first like to see if anyone else here has done that. A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. Re: cycle meter down load for HTC
I've been using Sports Tracker and am pretty happy with it. I havent gone all out and bought the HRM transmitter though - yet. It's even got a live update function that I haven't tried yet which should allow SHMBO to actually see where I am in real time when I'm on a long solo. Then again , maybe that's overkill and an invasion on my privacy I've got a HTC Desire and only used the live mode once, by accident, and don't think the batteries would last much more than three hours in the live mode.I'm only guessing on the time though. Unless you are at the front of the pack the view's the same.

Re: cycle meter down load for HTCI've got an HTC Desire (Android) and have tried the Mapmyride, Endomondo, and MyTracks apps. Of the three I prefer the the MyTracks app which provides more data that the others. That statement needs to be tempered with the fact that I've only used the free versions to date.
None of those apps comes close to the Nokia SportsTracker app. If you get youself a low end Nokia (Pawn shop) with GPS (~$100) and download the app you get a pretty good cycle computer. If you want heart rate, you can get an ANT+ compliant HRM (~$100) which is supported by SportsTracker. A couple of the Android apps also support ANT+ HRM's.
Re: cycle meter down load for HTC
I have Sports Tracker too. I also bought the Bluetooth HRM which works pretty well most of the time. You have to be careful as to where you put the phone otherwise it may loose the signal. I bought the HRM from the online shop. It was about $40 less than what I could by it for in Hobart. ![]()
Re: cycle meter down load for HTCSo in the four months since the last post, has anyone discovered a better android app or should I just give MyTracks a go for now?
Re: cycle meter down load for HTCBig thumbs up for sportstracker here, I used it and only bought a garmin because I couldn't find a Bluetooth hrm.

Re: cycle meter down load for HTCBeen playing with Mytracks. Seems OK. Suits me anyway. I send the gpx tracks to PY Trainer on my Linux box for analysis.
There is another called B.icycle But Can't try it as its on a Telstra Smart Touch Android for some reason. John
Re: cycle meter down load for HTC+1 for Endomondo - http://www.endomondo.com
works rather well, and you can attach other things to it with a bluetooth connection for heart rate and cadence, if you wish.
Re: cycle meter down load for HTCHold the front page, Sportstracker have released an invite only beta version for android which will soon be available for general download.
Just got this in an email: Landing soon on Android! Sports Tracker is also headed to Android phones. The Invite Only Beta is currently running and the development is in it's final stages and we expect to launch the application officially in the very near future.
