Another 40kms this morning (was an awful ride actually - headwind all the way home). However! I'm still determined to get to the 6666 - I have about 87km left to go :)

I think you might just beat me to it! It's been great having extra motivation at the end :) I thought last week that I might just give up and not worry about the 6666 but I needed to do it for myself - fingers crossed that the bike/me/and the weather all behave until I get there :)

Me too Julie, it's been tough going sometimes to stay motivated, but I'm very happy to be this close....I started late with this challenge not upping my goal until mid Feb I think! The friendship and gaunlet throwing has been good too, even if some of the blokes over took me months ago

Getting out on Christmas Day was good, some members of my family thought that I was nuts for riding back home from the Gold Coast  A tailwind for 60% of the ride made it easier

Good luck with the remaining k's... :)

No podium finish but the Bianchi crossed the 6666 line today. Thank you for all the encouragement along the way. Be in it next year for sure.

Hi apple,
Its the second King of the Mountain, late into the distance (about 120) that I will be pleased to be over. My niece owns a couple of gyms in Adelaide & she invited me to join her team, hope they are not all too young??????
Good Luck, I'm sure as two sober people we will give it our best shot

Well Mustang, if they are too young, look out for me on my pinarello and we can ride together. 8)

Well todays ride nearly killed me. Thanks to Shane for tagging alog and waiting for me. Next time I do an almost 140km mtb ride with 1900 metres of climbing, I am not riding 80kms the day before.

I was doing it tough at the 50km mark but the boys kept me going.

A few photos off my phone.

Our first rest stop

We had climb all the way up there.

Well done guys. I am hoping the last 3 days of 2011 will let me get to at least 6000kms. After I use today to recover from the past 2 days.

You too mate. I can see why you can get up the hills in a hurry. You'd blow away in a stiff breeze. :)

Good effort Lewy.

I am up to 964kms for the month with a few more days to go. 1000kms is there to be had. :)
