incidentally, the patron of AGF was my PE teacher at school for a year or two. he was a machine who was rumoured to have held a world record for rowing ergo machine output. i'm impressed with where he's taken AGF, but sad to hear about his loss.

Typically it falls on a non negotiable day for me... lets hope it's successful and next years lands on a different date!

Is it though? I just had a read of their information and it says everywhere that it's not a race etc etc. I thought the idea of a Gran Fondo that t's essentially a race for amateurs with staggered start times to prevent congestion. Maybe I've got that wrong?

It is a race: http://www.amygillett.org.au/gran-fondo-competition

Has the timing and prize amount in it. You will be issued with a timing device in the briefing sessions held on the Saturday.

If you download the regs. your entry also includes a 12 month "Sport" license.

It's a race. The annual Amy's Rides aren't, but this one is. Hopefully it's running next year, finances a little low atm and I've already signed up for the ATB 135km, and will barely be in shape for that one! ;)
