Your GPS gave you up to 20 kmh upgrade on speed over the cateye! . Get a Garmin! mine is usually ~2kmh of the cateye even over a short segment. But I'll take your Strava-Special-GPSXplora wrote:Milar, the 65kmh is complete rubbish, the GPS isn't sensitive enough to give you good data over a 12 second segment. It just can't do it. I reckon My Cateye said 45-50?
That just ridiculous! Only 365km yesterday and paltry 5000m elevation. Even if I could achieve that in a day, I couldn't even go near a bike for a week afterwards.Andywho wrote:There's a guy destroying everyone riding 380kms a day so far, turns out he's doing a charity ride thing- trying to break the world record for solo riding around Australia.

Bryton 35... silly machine. From what I can tell, Strava is simply taking a time over the segment anyway. Notice that for ties on time, the average speeds are identical, even though it is quite possible for the average speed to be slightly different over the same 60 seconds? I reckon I would must have registered a high 12 second run... look at the speeds actually recorded. No WAY they will be 70kmh peaking... if they are, I'm calling up the AIS for some help getting to the OlympicsMilar wrote:Your GPS gave you up to 20 kmh upgrade on speed over the cateye! . April was my biggest month ever, but as I was training for an event coming up in May it ended up quite easy. I didn't go out of my way at all to hit the Strava target, just did my training; 120+ on Saturdays, 80+ on Tuesdays, maybe a bit on Thursday and commuting as well. Also did a 170+ day for 3 Dams, it all adds up!Xplora wrote:I'm sick of the challenges. They are fantastic for HTFU junkies like Sandy and Tim Watt, who can conceivably put in the kilometres, but I had the biggest month of my life at 1187kms and I still didn't hit the April Challenge. I feel somewhat concerned for the leaderboard people - seems like they are mentally handicapped at some level, to put in those hours on the bike... maybe they are bionically connected to the seatpost, my sit bones can barely cope with the current workload

For me (106%) it took a fairly active effort to complete the challenge. Because of the weather and some family commitments I was well behind at ten days to go. I had a big week of 580kms on the week of Anzac day (taking friday off for a ride), and that got me over the line. I was pretty knackered at the end of it, and my butt certainly needed a rest!!Red Rider wrote:April was my biggest month ever, but as I was training for an event coming up in May it ended up quite easy. Good list - thanks. I got there comfortably in the end. Anzac Day made the difference. Plus smashing myself in the last week - my legs are still sore. But May looks like being a debacle with only two shortish rides so far, so I should at least be recovered soon.Red Rider wrote:April was my biggest month ever, but as I was training for an event coming up in May it ended up quite easy.
