Why is it ugly? Eye of the beholder ... my eye says it's ugly.

Why do it like that? To be different is the only reason that makes sense. Maybe it is specially suited for crit courses that mostly turn in only one direction. Perhaps they can make right and left versions.

Cheers,

Cameron

Very much the latter - I think it looks terrible.

Why indeed. Breathtaking in its pointlessness.

On the upside, either Wiggle or c r c (can't remember which and can't be bothered searching) has a bunch of these frames going cheap atm.

On te downside, the rear disc brake mount is IS not post mount. I suppose you could buy an adapter easily enough though.

I love the Lynskey bikes, that's for sure but when I saw this I thought it was an exercise in experimental R&D. They are maybe trialing a rigidity concept.
In the building game we use reinforcing bars that are clamped at one end and then twisted over their length. Called "Deformed steel" bars. It greatly increases the bars strength So that we can use less material for a given project and keep weight down.

This seems a trial in that line of thinking and it would possibly create an opening to use lighter tube for the same or more strength. But appearance come into it too.
But what do I know? :)

The twist is supposed to make it more rigid. Whether it does or not i have no idea, but it certainly results in a significant drop in attractiveness..

Ugly but super

Made in 1996 as an olympic prototype super bike - article goes on to say how it revolutionized bicycle technology etc etc and also how it catalyzed rules on bicycle design for competition to be more standard since this one just made things too zoomy.

It's just the colour scheme that does that - in any other country's flag it would be perfectly acceptable

I've got one of those, but I only ride it while wearing my Batman costume. Robin rides along behind btw.

All it needs is a chin rest in the center of those flat bars and you'd be set like a jelly.

I have a thing for tandems, and old bikes, but this is so wrong on so many levels it can only find a place here.

If you disagree you can buy it yourself here, however if the picture doesn't make your eyes water, the asking price will.

Cheers,

Cameron

I believe I saw the other day an older road bike with the handlebars flipped around the other way, so that the drop sections were on top instead.

Does it weigh 30kg or more? Looks really bulky. And will anyone choose it over the Cervelo P5x? And that Adamo saddle is absolute evil.
