No you're right. That's ill conceived. Seat stays are wrong and the head tube arrangement could have been handled much better.
I'd be more concerned about what is actually keeping the steerer tube inside that head tube :?

That one is fantastically ugly. I would say after market (user-imposed) ugly is trumping design ugly so far.

Here is one for design ugly:

The emerging theme:

TT bikes are hideous. No Exceptions.
Concept bikes are hideous: No Exceptions.

Dual suspension bikes: mostly hideous.
So we get the leaders we deserve and we elect, we get the companies and the products that we ask for, right? And we have to ask for different things. – Paul Gilding
but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

Actually, this bike looks okay. Something about the combination of black and the square shape/s. And the wheels look kinda cool. I would consider it as a folder.

Must have been a shock to discover what happens to pizzas when you transport them on their sides
That's only second worst so far IMO.

Pure Clingon or bat bike? What an atrocity.
There are a few mostly TT frame sets among the Chinese clean skins that belong in "try hard to be different" school.
They all fail but that one takes the cake.

Are we going to have a poll? That Eastern European monstrosity - ahem - CEECO - is most definitely eyecatching.

Not a bad idea :D

How about by categories as suggested by Drubie?

TT bikes:

Concept:

Dual suspension:

Folder:

Fixie:

User induced ugliness:

Hire:

That could be over the top, and they should be lumped under Ugly.

Without a doubt, TT and Tri bikes are ugly. However I find a certain purposeful elegance in this...
