Was attempting to do 1 x 100km+ ride each day but only managed the first 6 days. Got to 74km today, it was a little windy (not much!) and I'd had enough. Legs were still going ok, considering.
Now, I just need o catch back up to TimW!!
I nearly choked when i saw a 74 k ride, my immediate thought was"Stu is getting soft"  ,But kudos for a massive week mate, i only just managed to keep you at bay, now if you don't mind would you please get back to work

Thanks mate, I'm still hopeful you can get there as well.
I'm relieved there's no new challenge for June, 3 in a row might be the end of me.

Hey mate, sorry I misread your post. May I ask what made you choose to ride a trike... How do you find it compared to a two wheeler? I'm Assuming your working harder with the extra weight and resistance..!

I've got a (healing) frayed suprasinitis tendon in my left shoulder. I can't ride my Masi until it heals :( Even tho I can ride my Thorn I can't sustain rides over 50km really only on a recumbent can I as the shoulder is no longer actively bearing any weight. I would have bought a trike instead of my Thorn but I would have had to buy new panniers last year so I go the Thorn. I'm selling that one now soon lol

Speed compared to my Thorn, can't really compare it to my Masi tho
Average speed is up even tho it has 3 2" tyres on it. I do notice ANY slight climb on it. On my normal commute I wouldn't perceive some inclines that I can now spot on my trike. But then again I do notice any decline immediately :)
No one except another trike can draft me now :) It's fun drafting roadies on it haha, just wait until I get my wheel covers and fairing

Yep a good 129km today, I was about right with my guess for 130km and had some fun with roadies to boot :)

Pics for my trike can be found http://bicycles.net.au/forums/viewtopic ... 29&t=52369 But I have altered it somewhat since then so need to take more photos.

Postby gabrielle260 » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:57 pm

Was rummaging around in the bike room and discovered my training log from 1995 when I rode across America in PACTour.
Amazingly, allowing for my time off the bike earlier this year, I am doing about the same volume of riding as I did in training back then!
Thanks guys - everyone's support and enthusiasm has been a fantastic motivator!

Twas a nice 30km recovery ride today, headwind on the return was UGH tho. Next weekend is a 150km ride, and I'm commuting to work twice this week, so 290k week for me. Following week will be in excess of 300. Guess you can tell I'm getting my endurance back :) August hmm time to break my 400 I think on Audax- The Long Flat One

Just noticed Wal is no longer on our Australian Cycling Forums leader board although he is still number 1 on the Bike Journal leader board.
What's happened? Has Wal changed his affiliation?
Wal, if you are out there, come back... We miss you!!!!!

I think that Wal made the fatal mistake of taking the interwebs too seriously...:)

Anyway, that damn red arrow is getting away from me despite 170km over the long weekend. Hard to keep the mileage up in the winter. And I've got to travel overseas for a week next month which will not help.

10K PLUS club 2012

Postby gabrielle260 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:41 pm

Rode this morning in the fog and the cold... Notable for a couple of reasons;
Cracked the 5,000 km mark (yea!), but also had a run in with a police woman on Beach Rd....
I was riding with a mate who came out without eating and of course he bonked. After getting him something to eat we were taking it slowly (about 20kph) near Half Moon Bay when a police car came up behind and gave us a short burst of the siren. It then came alongside and the police woman in the passenger seat told us we should be on the bike path. It then accelerated off leaving both of us gob smacked at the bizarre behavior!

Hmmm, so even Mrs Plod thinks the same way as your average aggressive Aussie driver!

That is of concern to all of us. :(

Back to fourth and into the top 50, funny how a bit of cold weather and rain and/wind in the last few weeks puts people off riding hehe better for me I guess.

Monday's ride was bloody freezing started out at just over 2 degrees with some serious fog, not the best visibility but it was great fun none the less.

TDF next week, was thinking how COOL would it be to have your indoor trainer right In front of a huge screen so you can watch the tour and ride with them AWESOME I TELL YA.... Such a great idea :D

My wife has banned the trainer from the TV room. :(
Perhaps I can sneak it into the bedroom...

Doh... Your right got carried away... Told te boss I may be late in on some mornings throughout the TDF, and his reply was no problems....coooool :D

And Andy is out of the TDF haven't read why yet, am wondering if it's the director sportif of the team that's caused that.... One less person for our Cadel to worry bout, should be a good battle with Wiggins. Though I thing BMC team need to train harder at staying with Cadel right till the line, he can't afford to be isolated at the end in the TDF like he was last week.
