A nice 101km along the coast this morning, last 50km into the teeth of the wind which made it quite a workout, but also a bit cooler I guess.

I didn't do my usual 80-100km ride on the Avanti thru the Dandenongs this weekend... instead, a 51km return trip from Berwick to the beach at Edithvale. I rode the old Giant MTB, and took a few paths as well as roads. But the best part of the ride was that my Mrs came along! Very exciting for both of us, but mostly me ;) We had a great day, even though it got a little warm and windy towards the end.
A milestone day in my short history as a cyclist, very happy!

Just did 102kms with Norbs and DaveOZ.

I am claiming my KOM before they get home and upload their times :D

And thanks to my lead out men for dragging me around here for a PR and to beat my mate.

We had a pretty fair wind blowing today, so I planned my route very strategically and managed to knock over a few KOM's.

Can't help but feel like I cheated a little bit though! :P

LOL ... as much as I'd like to claim some sort of super human effort, ALL the credit there has to be given to the tail wind. I can't maintain anywhere near those speeds without the wind at my back .

My previous fastest speeds on that segment were 37.5 km/h, 34.9 km/h & 30.2 km/h.

Yes he was well gone. You took the KOM on runway drag race by 1 sec.

thanks bosvit & Apple :) she's a bit sore today, but she enjoyed it! I got her bike back in December, in the hope that she'd ride with me every now and then. I was repeatedly asking her to join me, which she did 3 times over 3 months, for short rides, with varying degrees of success. Then I stopped asking, and lo & behold, she asked me this weekend! Rapt we did 51km, and I'll be waiting with bated breath for her to ask again over the next few weeks

Mate, if you keep hitting her with 50k rides with not much between you are a braver man than I and I've been married 37 years.

Well done on the ride guys, looking forward to the video, wish I could have joined you, I'm sure you where having a lot more fun than me. I spent the day helping the inlaws move apartments in Sydney before rushing back to Berry to pick Shazz up from her course and back to church in time for band practice... Non stop day and I'm more exhausted today than I was after my tough ride last week.

I'm actually shaping up a bit short this month. I'm sitting on 841K for the month right now, and my normal commuting will bring me up to 941K by months end.

So, I basically need to find an extra 60K's somewhere over the next two days in order to hit the big 1,000.
