Early start for me to go for a quick spin around the river with some friends before brunch with the family.
A Rapha shirt and a Barfly mount for my Garmin were waiting under the tree for me...racing kit on order didn't make the Christmas deadline!

I've done no riding in the past 3 days and looks like there is no way I will make the Rapha 500.

Great effort Norbs, a very big year!! Thanks for all your support and stories through the year.
Nice work DaveOz, an impressive effort.
Nice work Julie for edging over the line with an impeccable sense of timing. You and Dave made up an impressive amount of ground over the last few weeks. Well done Oldnewby, you'll finish well in front of me by end of year. Sounds like you've really enjoyed this year.
Thanks for everyone's encouragement and banter, has made it a fun year on the bike for me - roll on 2013.

I've just ridden the past 8 days in a row, if the Rapha was from the 20th to today I'd have it done!
Here's hoping that the weather holds for the last 195ks that I have left to do
And for some unknown reason my Strava bar hasn't changed...bu€€er

I get up at 4am to drive closer in toward work so that I can ride before starting at 8, I arrive at work by 7:30 to shower and get ready.lovemybike wrote:I know! Now I've reached my goal I feel like a break but I said I would do it... Why 4am? I couldn't make it through the day! I've been riding at 6 and I have to admit I've been really loving it - it is the best part of the day. Even makes work seem slightly better. Have you decided a goal for 2013 yet Lisa?

On the weekends we are trying to start our rides by 5 or 5:30 to beat the worst of the heat or before the arrival of the rain.
My goal for '13 is 10,000k which is doable considering that i'm sitting on 9600+ for this year...maybe 12k!
it will depend on how the crit racing goes as well!
You??

Thank you!
My commute home this evening left me weary and aching but not yet broken. Back is sore, knees are sore, feet are sore, hands are sore, head is tired. This festive 500 is a world of pain, nothing festive about it at all.
Anyway, I'll be getting up at 5am tomorrow to keep the kms rolling and I only have to ride another 180km in the next 4 days to score the patch. Not sure if that's good or bad?
