Another podium today....

My team for Noosa had a hit-out this morning at the Bribie Tri as a practice run for the big one in 3 weeks time...we placed 2nd in the female teams

This winning business is getting addictive!

I am ever so slowly catching that nasty little arrow again.

Can only manage max 30km rides at the moment coz of the back and no time to ride to work any more so I am going to have to take all my chances to get there.

Still keen as to try for 10K next year though.

Had a good ride today, not for the ride but for the decisions made on it. Looks like we are going to have a local race on the first Saturday of the month, which will be great. Just means one trip to Whyalla a month during winter and I get my once a fortnight racing, which is plenty for me

Lol, we had no idea that they announced winning teams until when our runner crossed the finish line and the announcer said that we came second in the female teams....you've never seen three ladies laugh so hard!

It was heaps of fun but I'll stick to crit racing after Noosa I think....gotta get the mark of the beast off my leg and arms before going for my next ride...the roadies will probably make fun of me

A lazy 54kms today at a leisurely pace. Just riding, looking at stuff and taking photos. The Lance debacle has been doing my head in, so it was good to just dawdle along and take photos.

Yay - I just logged my last six days riding and I have made target.

It's 23 km to spare.

Because I did 17km this mornig, it had to have been back yesterday. I was out and about with a young unicyclist touring the CBD, riverside drive, Norhtbridge, Vincent, etc.

Perhaps I may feel differently later on, but atm I have no desire to set fresh targets. I don't think that they do much to motivate me any more than I already am and I perhaps I should be focussing more on skills work anyway.

Anyway, it'll be nice to see that signature bar later when it is refreshed. I'll probably let my vanity run wild and post a "look at what I did" comment on my FB page tonight.

in the mean time :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

My first year cycling and I set the 6k as the target and I reached it on the weekend. Quick stats:
176 rides, 5 centuries, 38 half centuries, 35km average ride at 29km an hour average :D

Looks like a near miss Norbs, maybe you're luck is in, just depends how you look at it.

That's a great first year effort.

Have you thought about a goal/s for 2013?

I haven't given it a lot of thought other than 8k for the year and maybe do some extended multi day cruise - not sure where. needless to say I have got the bug.

One goal I did achieve this year was to get 2 new bikes, needless to say the wife says I can't buy any more :(

LOL sounds familiar.

I got 3 new ones in my first serious year but I did write one off in a crash and got a decent insurance payout

Ah cycling, what better way to go broke!

I nearly got one for that very reason, but the R10 was better value & better suited.

Those S60s would look right at home on it MM.......

I had not heard of Fondriest before, but I'm pretty sure I want one now.

I finally got around to repacking the bearings and cleaning the drive train on the Paino. Took it for a shakedown cruise this morning. When I wasn't stopping to adjust the saddle, or the derailleur, I was smiling like a madman. I've not owned a proper fast bike before, and even though it's nearly 30 years old, it's still proper fast. Stiff as a board, bends like a reed, accelerates like someone else is pedalling it :) .

Beautiful bike Grant. I used to hang around Frank Paino's shop in Miranda when I was a kid 30 years ago. I remember riding my Bennet BSO up there and drooling at bikes like that through the window. Vey sweet.
