How much are you coming up short by?
2000 give or take a few k's. Bikejournal will show 70,000 I think but the other 2,000 was from Melbourne a few years before this effort. :D

copied from my post on the 6k thread:

at last, I got out for a long ride today. It wasn't the Donna Buang, Toolangi, Kinglake ride I'd planned, as I needed to meet the better half in Mornington, to suss out our wedding venue. BUT I wasn't gonna be deterred, so a quick look at google maps, and I'd figured out a route. Even though I wasn't able to climb as much as I'd have liked, it was a fantastic ride.
150.44km (longest ever for me), in 7 hours 7 minutes elapsed time, 5hrs 58 ride time, 25.2kmh average, 2185 metres climbed.

http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/test-844

(the bit at the end is because I got to Mornington and had only done 146km, and I was gonna to 150!

So after finally getting a decent ride in March, here's where I'm at for the year:
49 rides (16 in March)
2096km (611 in March)
40965 metres climbed (11024 in March)

Rapt with today, even though March was a poor month.

Thanks LTR, appreciate the encouragement. It has been a fun year so far, but I'm quite aware of reality hitting thru winter... hence why I'll still be rapt if I get 6k.
Thanks again!

Somehow after a few slack weeks I am still managing to stay in the top 500 of Bikejournal.

I may move myself up a few spots over Easter as I have about 250kms of riding planned between now and Tuesday.

copied from the 6k thread:
"conquered Mt Donna Buang yesterday, as part of a 104km loop. Met a bloke (when he caught me...) about 4km up, and am very grateful for him dragging me up the next 4! And Scott from Windsor, you were right... there was 10km of unsealed road between Donna Buang and Healesville. I'd planned my route, so thought what the hell, how bad can it be! Well, after realising it was 3 degrees at the top, and my hands gradually freezing on the way down, not being able to pedal to warm up, cos I didn't want to go too fast, and riding on a damp dirt road for 10km downhill on road tyres, I realised just how bad! All up though, it was a fantastic day, 5 hrs riding time, and a sense of achievment after completing the climb.
Highly recommend to anyone wanting a challenging enjoyable climb, and a great area to be riding in.

Count me in for 4000km.

What do I need to do so as not to get that error in my signature about the goal not being found for 2012? Just this message?

I've been a bit tardy of late in updating my log. A big bulk entry and I am back in front of the line. (Well, I will be when the magic is doen behind the scenes and the updated data is applied.)

Pro-rating it I would be headed for 7440km this year. Of course that won't happen once winter starts hitting us. 6,000km is still looking good though. Whoo whoo!

BTW who is the noble soul that is currently doing the behind the scenes stuff to keep our bike journal bar running? Whoever it is, thanks. Every little bit of motivation helps.

Cycling taking a bit of a back seat this month. With 50th birthday party planing and woodcutting for winter I won't make my monthly target. Still ahead of the yearly target so still good.

This morning I picked up a KOM. Go me! It's just a short climb with a rider count of around 80 and my wife is QOM on the same segment. Well when I told her she instantly said she was going to beat my time. I think she will because she is a better climber than me.

Strava segment. http://app.strava.com/segments/1190213

I can see that it says it slopes down but I can assure you the Glandore Tram overpass is just that.

First wet ride this arvo, scenic 45km along the river in constant drizzel. Not bad - 80+ days of riding this year and the first time my bike has gotten wet.

Perth weather really sucks

I ahh ahem.... avoided that rain and visited Clackline, Northam, Grass Valley, York & Beverley and then back to Clackline via York. It was almost completely dry up there on Saturday and bone dry at the finish. :D

Driving (rare for me  ) back to Perth it started p*****g down on Gt E Hwy Bypass near the airport.
42mm of rain at our place then another 9mm yesterday.

Copied from the 6k thread:

so April has come to an end.. Here's where my year's at:
Total rides: 62 (April 13)
Total Km's: 2636 (April 540)
Total Meters climbed: 52191 (April 11226)
As predicted, the years' stats are falling away each month... but I'm still enjoying each and every ride!

Yay - another small milestone (kilometrestone?).

It was wet and it was cloudy and it was cool and it was in Chidlow and no-one was around to see it. But it was still good to have recorded my 18,000th km. It made the rest of the ride decidedly warmer. :D

Very late starter this year, for various reasons I was off the bikes entirely until mid-April. Back into it now though and have set myself a modest target of 3 Mm.
