+1 = 23

The rear went flat just as I arrived at the gym, so I went to fix it after the class, only to find that I had forgotten my tubes patches and spanner. So I decided to ride the 5k home, along the footpath. The tube was damaged near the valve stem, but I couldn't be 100% sure that was the root cause, as I had ridden 5k on it. As a precaution I added 2 layers of electrical insulation tape across the valve hole and punched thru it.

Just about to go home a few days ago and the rear is softer than plod on dooring drivers :(
No sign of damage to the tyre at the puncture site but a fair amount of crap came out of the preexisting cuts.

That's FIVE.

+1 to make it 3 for the year. Rear tyre went flat in the garage over night, so quite convenient.
Found a small shard of clear glass (< 0.5mm) embedded in the tyre. Unusual for around
here - streets are mostly littered with green V bottles.

Tyre was a Maxxis Detonator that came with the Cell Triumph. Had done 1740 km on it
(first puncture). This is in the ballpark most other tyres have given me, except
for Conti GP4000s which give me about double that life between punctures.

And +1, 23. :| "Tag" to you, mike.

The fairy be a right bitch, the poor old rear tyre is only about a month old and it's cut to shreds already. Most haven't made their way through, but with damp conditions this morning something did. I'll have to pull it off and clean the accumulated glass out. Looks like it needs a few patches on it as well. Got to say, these Race D's crap all over the previous tyre for puncture resistance.

My count this year is 4, after managing to achieve a puncture free year last year. Let's hope I don't get anymore.

My count is the same as yours. Unfortunately, 3 of them came in the one weekend courtesy of some sharp edges inside a wheel rim. Those were smoothed out and no further issues occurred. I hardly ever get any punctures normally.

+1, 24. :|

Piece of glass stuck in the rear, it was only small but just managed to nick the tube. Second flat for this tyre, but it's almost at end of life - I'm only getting six weeks/2000km out of a rear. Lots of glass on the roads at the moment, must be beer season again.

Mike - if we keep this up, when I'm in Sydney next... we will have to catch up and toss a coin and the loser can buy coffee.

Panaracer Race Type D. Which is the replacement for the Panaracer Extreme Duro. Sept/Oct was spent on Panaracer Evo 3's, which I had hoped might have been acceptable... but I had something like 9 punctures in two months. I'm still using an Evo on the front of the commuter, but I'll stick to the Type D on the back.

The only downside of the Panaracers is that the rubber peels off the carcass when they get really thin.

The upside is that they are damned cheap! The Type D is easily better than the Conti 4Seasons, they were $50 each from the U.K. and RRP in Aus of $129.

AAAAAAAAAArrrrggggghhhh!

That was the screaming noise I made this morning while trying to make a right hand turn at speed down a side street, where cars were waiting for me, when the rear bottomed out and went a bit sideways. O.K., not really (scream, that is), but it certainly gave me a scare.

+1, 25. Beer bottle, I must have picked it up from the same place as yesterday, which means it's probably with all the little bits of broken tiles about 2km from my house.

Then, when I pumped it up, the bead popped off the rim and I was within seconds of popping my last tube!

I picked up some decent patches yesterday (weldtite cure-c-cure "feather edge" are THE patches!), so I patched three tubes while waiting for a job to complete this morning.

Good point - back in the old days it was long-necks and cans, but stubbies are cheap and popular. Soooo much glass at the moment. :(
