+2 = 3. Going round a corner after just starting out this morning and I can feel the tyre bagging out around the rim - jump off and sure enough it's a flat. Walk the bike 750m home, chuck the tube, check rim and tyre for sharp bits and find nothing. New tube in and then start off again. About 8km in, the tyre goes again! This time i check where the leak is from and sure enough it's a spoke end just poking through the rim tape. Patch tube and go the rest of the way to work. Off to bike shop for rim tape now... Damn.

Ah, there's nothing like coming out of work at the end of the day, hoping on the steed, and finding the rear tyre flat from a fairy pube.

+1

New Total = 7 at 415km/flat.

+1 = 6 at 122 km per flat

Riding to work in the fog this morning enjoying how quiet the road was when there was a loud bang and the all too familiar feel of a rapid deflation of the rear tyre. Turns out I had run over a piece of metal which put a large hole in the tyre and tube.
As I was only a km from work it was quicker to push the bike than attempt to fix it.
At the rate of punctures above it looks like I have joined the ranks of the gatorskins worst tyre ever camp.
As it was a public holiday I now have to fix it on Tuesday after getting a lift home with a workmate.

At last I can participate in the Black Cat Awards.

After 4,800km on 4 different bikes over 4 years plus a few hundered un-metered kilometers it took Friday the 13th for me to cop a flat tyre on the road. 18km into a 60+km ride I was riding up a gentle slope wondering why I could only pull a cadence of 85 in a gear I usually pull 95 up the same hill. I felt fit, very fresh for this stage of the ride and then it dawned on me to look down at my rear tyre........ Shock horror, first flat in approx 5000km of riding.......

Foolish git me didn't bring levers and a spare tube so 2.5 hours in the glorious sunshine before the cavalry arrived.......so I had plenty of time to inspect the tyre for puncture marks but it was an 'inside job' and being a latex tube it took several hundred metres for the deflation to complete to the point where the rear began squirming under my weight..........phew....

95psi inside a 25c tyre (I weigh 76kg) is clearly not enough pressure to avoid a pinch flat on a lumpy rural chip seal road....... tubulars here we come??

I open my account with my first flat at 1500km. I was preparing my bike for tomorrows brevet and found the front flat - culprit was a piece of beer bottle. Glad I didn't leave checking things until tomorrow morning.

Had my 5th flat for the year today, nothing like replacing a tube in the pouring rain. I did welcome the rest break though, I was being flogged.

3 today. :(

And Dizz laughed and asked why I carry 3 tubes when I had the first flat today.

I think that makes 5 for the year so far.

+1 = 3

Not as regular a rider as some here, so it's taken a while to get my first flat while actually riding. Heard a 'pop' and then the high pitched pss, pss, pss as I pedalled thinking, 'What's that sound?'

Funnily enough, it took me more time looking for the puncture point than it did to replace the tube, pump it up and get going. In the end I didn't find the offending glass, metal, whatever. Still held okay though. Shortened the ride time by 10 minutes! Dammit!

Got home this morning and pulled out a 3 Corner Jack and then the tyre went down.

Note: Do not remove 3 Corner Jacks or other foreign bodies from your tyres until after your ride.

Thin piece of wire, possibly from the bead of a car/truck

Haven't posted here for a while, but I have since had the following:

1 on MTB after derailleur broke and took out the rear tyre.
2 on a 120km ride on Saturday
1 front flatty in the pouring rain about 2 weeks ago
1 before that can't remember the details.

I think I now have 8 for the year.

An interim update... my last update was stuffed up, so I need to go back right to the start and begin all over again to be sure, but I've done the numbers twice and I think this is right, but the order in each row might be out of sequence.

No punctures for me for a while and I had an 'off' on Sunday which will keep me off the bike for a while until my shoulder heals.
