Thanks briztoon. Funny thing is I haven't actually done a 50km ride yet.briztoon wrote:erin wrote:7 Jan (solo ride) 1 Point, 100km, average moving speed 24.9km

Well done erin. Keep doing them and soon 50km doesn't seem like a proper ride any more.

Wow how do your legs handle it? I went and got a massage on mine today because they were sore from yesterday. Actually how does your bum handle it? Hehe. Nice work though...something to work towards (one day).sli123 wrote:7 Jan, 1 Point, SPCC Saturday, 114KM, Total Points: 1, Total Distance: 114KM

Nah, there's tis chick riding the South Pole.duds2u wrote:Ken Ho, I reckon you deserve double points for riding out there in the weather conditions you are having at the moment.
It's been pretty hot in the burbs too, so no double points. Just have to be a i careful out here, as there is no random water, and vey little shade.

Thanks Erin. Your legs and butt get used to it. It helps if you've got the right bike setup for your body type too.erin wrote:Wow how do your legs handle it? Well done on your century, and now that you've done one I'm sure there'll be lots more to come.

I see your Belmont to Redcliffe and I think WA Belmont and Redcliffe and I wonder how you did over 100km riding between the two... it must have been the LONG way roundbriztoon wrote:Wednesday Jan 4th, Belmont to Redcliffe & back 1 point ,108KM. Total Points 1, Total Distance 108KM.

I'm out before I started, I mean only 1 point for a 1200km Audax Ride - no incentive for me. Even if I do a 600km permanent I still only get 1 point!
If Audax rides were allowed with 1 point per 100km I would have amassed 382 points over the last 3.5 years and that's excluding the excess kms beyond the multiples of 100 eg. ACE250, DTD250
Ah well with less pointless record keeping it'll give me more time for riding.

Briztoon......I dunno whether to be impressed at that or shake my head at your insanity to contemplate and actually do a ride of that distance in today's heat here in Brisbane....... How long did you take? Did you ride alone?
I put 100km up this morning, took 3hr 19mins but I left at 4am...... Not 9.30-10am!

I agree. 1 point/100 km of single ride seems fair.cavebear2 wrote:7 Jan, Audax Park Life, 234.6 (includes ride to/from start of ride), Total Points: 1, Total Distance: 234.6KM

A 200 + ride in one day is a fair swing.

The Audax rules are taken from the UK competition for the reasons given; to make it fairer for everyone and to encourage those who may otherwise not have a go; clearly Audax riders such as yourself are at the other end of the scale.cavebear2 wrote:7 Jan, Audax Park Life, 234.6 (includes ride to/from start of ride), Total Points: 1, Total Distance: 234.6KM

Of course there is nothing stopping you or anyone else putting up a competition which has different rules or one for Audax riders.

200 km rides would be worth two points unless they are Audax rides as stated in the opening post.Ken Ho wrote:I agree. 1 point/100 km of single ride seems fair.cavebear2 wrote:7 Jan, Audax Park Life, 234.6 (includes ride to/from start of ride), Total Points: 1, Total Distance: 234.6KM

You must ride one metric century 100 km per month to successfully complete the challenge. Simply log every ride of 100 km or more and award yourself a point for each 100 km ridden. Audax rides (calendar or perm) are permitted however you can only count them as a 100 km ride (assuming it was at least 100 km of course) and only one Audax ride per month. Makes it fairer for the non-endurance riders.

Well I finished work at 1am this morning, so a 4am ride was not gonna happen. Left at 9:30am, home at 2pm. I was smashed by the wind from Nundah right through to the Redcliffe bridge. Then got lost and ended up in Pinkenbah on the way home. All good. refilled water at every opportunity, worked it out that I drank about 6 litres on the ride, then a bottle of gatorade when I got home. I don't feel the heat so much on the bike, well not until after about 3 hours. The last 20km was pretty tuff today.osrg wrote:briztoon wrote: Monday Jan 9th, Belmont to Redcliffe & Back 1 point, 101KM (the short way), Total Points 2, Total Distance 209KM.

I think insanity is closer to the mark. And yeah I was alone. Though I still saw quite a few riders on the Boondal bike track, and even passed a guy coming the opposite way over the gateway on the way home (probably about 1:40ish pm).
