So touching and object is a offence needing to be reported to the police now?

A passer by touched my front fence. Should that be reported to the police?

Wow guys having a crack at the legend cyclist that taught the bogan that he can't mouth off with no consequences.

As far as I am concerned he got off light.

He probably touched his car because he thought he'd get an STD from punching Warney instead, due to the physical contact and all.

The story is on the Age website today http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/warne ... 1q4rz.html not much of a story. Amazing that he has a run in with 1 cyclist, therefore the government must change the law!

Written up in the Feral Hun too, surprisingly neutral
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Just read on another forum that a following witness cyclist has come forward saying king bogan cut off and braked heavily in front off the victim cyclist.

Given the kings comments the day before would appear he was out looking to teach cyclists a lesson.

Some of the comments from non-cyclists on the HUN website are an absolute disgrace.

Grill Team in Sydney has thrown this up this morning...it's turned into a bash the cyclists thread

Good to see Queen Clover down there has completed screwed the inner city driving lanes, so motorists take that out on the cyclists.

Hosko

You have no idea what you are writing about. Clover has done a great job, but it is only half finished. Problem is the roads authority.

It's MMM, what did you expect?
And I disagree. There should be MORE cycles lanes and less lanes for private vehicles.

I read through some of the comments in the Herald Sun just for a laugh. Mostly it was about getting off the road, rego, single file, lycra louts etc etc

One comment I did like was:
Cyclists should be banned from the road entirely, or pay a registration fee that covers the cost of building an alternative road network just for them.

Sure I would love that and I would pay rego for that. I'd love a dedicated bike lane down them middle of the Monash Fwy. I would dread each year when rego was due though...that will be 1 million dollars per bike!

Seriously how hard a concept is it that rego doesnt pay for roads, taxes do. I would actually like to know what the rego cost for a car would be if they scrapped all the fuel taxes and other taxes that went to building and maintaining roads and made it funded purely from the rego cost like most motorists think it is. I'm guessing it would in the tens of thousands at least?

Apart from maybe some more polysyllabic words, and perhaps generally better articulation.. are these sort of threads much different from comments, tweets & likes on Facebook pages of such trash? Which actually achieves anything?

Birds of a feather flock together, I guess.

I just zone out of one side of the argument a lot more quickly than I do the other.

To the antipodes... he's probably been travelling down beach road with the pro peleton cos players ... they can test one's patience.

Did my bit this morning.

Spencer Howsen on Brisbane ABC Radio picked up on the twit war started by Warne.
Spencer was asking for comment re whether bikes should have rego plates so when riders break the law they can be identified.
As usual, lots of idiot callers were saying cyclists should pay rego.

So I told Spencer:
- when cyclists take car rego plates now and report dangerous driving to police, it is a matter of one person's word against another and overwhelmingly nothing happens, so why would it be different for motorists complaining about cyclists?
- I agree for cyclists to pay rego as long as it is proportional to the damage done to the roads by bikes, and motorists agree to pay a road congestion tax.

Later I thought to add :
- pedestrians wear a rego plate so they can be reported when walking in an illegal and dangerous manner on shared bike paths and roads.
- if cyclists should pay rego, then motorists should not be excused from paying carbon tax.

And probably the right line to take was that much of this conflict is due to motorists not knowing the road rules, and then ask Spencer as a motorist, to state whether bikes are entitled to travel in the centre of a lane, which many say not. But as cyclists we all know that's not the law.

Ah ha the victim has come forward and posted his account on cyclingtipsblog.com. Seems king bogan did not like him filtering and ran him over wrecking his bike. He has witnesses and reported the incident to constable plod.

He was not going to make it public but just wanted restitution but as king bogan has gone public so has he.

Now we can sit back and enjoy the fun!!!
