a find field or slimalar - soz mod's dont know where to post

i was just wondering if there was a way to get a find field so its easyer to find stuff and stop the dubbleing up on posts.

Unko, if you look at the menu at the top of the page, you can select 'search' and find posts that way by typing in a keyword.

The way I search any forum (not just this one) is to use google with a site filter. For instance, to find any mention of the word Bacchetta on this forum, I use the following search string in google:

Bacchetta site:bicycles.net.au

That does the trick for me anywhere and is normally better than the search methods supplied by these forum software providers.

while on search techniques , is there a way to search the viewed history of this forum? ie so that you can look back at what you've viewed say a month ago?

How quickly does Google updates its search index for a site like this?

Firefox has a spell checker built in, so I suggest using that!
