Swoop with contact to the right shoulder, that's 2 points isn't it?

Yup, only 2 points, which at the time of impact seems a low score for the frak out factor caused..........Mulger bill wrote:Swoop with contact to the right shoulder, that's 2 points isn't it?

I had a swoop on 3 of my four morning commutes last week near Partridge Street, Inala. Just a swoop and a beak clack near my left ear: 3 points
Also had a swoop and clack job near the Oxley golf driving range, Oxley Road on Tuesday: 1 Point
Had a contact belly flop into my helmet on Friday morning (with angry squawk on impact), also at the above spot: 2 points.
This morning I stuck my hand on my helmet when I heard my Oxley Road mate give a pre-attack squawk, so it could attack my hand rather than my ear. It did a swoop and frustrated sounding squawk: 1 point
Couldn't Garmin or someone make a ANT+ magpie swoop sensor, to tally and show off on Strava?

I might try fixing a rear pointing camera on my helmet to see if I can get some interesting footage.

Gave it a go this morning but apparently had the camera pointing too far up to the sky so nothing much to see. Will adjust & try again.open roader wrote:Great! - bring on the swoop cam.........malnar wrote:I might try fixing a rear pointing camera on my helmet to see if I can get some interesting footage.

We have a new local diabolical dive bomber I'm calling him pie in the sky.......... This bugger has been practicing on me for the past 3 weeks but today with the sun out all day and spring right upon us it swung into blitzkrieg mode.......... It's a scratching, screaching, clacking thing and worse still, has it's territory right on a T intersection corner approx 400, in any direction....... which means 2 of my main 3 regular riding loops are effected. Today was also the first short sleeve jersey/ non tights day for the season so I felt naked against it's viscious attacks!!
Today I was rounding the uphill corner so not much escape velocity with which to make a fast getaway........
5 heavy slapping, nasty scratching contacts = 10 points
4 other swoops from the pie in the sky...... = 4 points
3 other magpie swoops elsewhere (tame in comparison) = 3 points
Running total = 42 points.........

Further up the road, different Magpie was more serious, 6 swoops including one contact on Mrs C+W's helmet; so having ridden less km, she has somehow managed to outscore me Her running score = 6 (or do you get more for contact/blood?)

First attack of the season: Last Sunday: Kedron Brook Bike path / near Swinburne St exit
- 1 psychotic magpie, 5 separate attack swoops: 2 non contact: 2 hit helmet: 1 flush to the side of the head, straight in ..blood / f**ing hurt = 11 points
Today... same place, same vicious little bastard.
- same psychotic magpie, 2 separate attack swoops: 1 hit helmet: 1 again flush to the side of the head, less than 10mm from the first hit the week before / blood = 7 points
Total = 18
