107 km incl the 6km from Pt Lonsdale to Queenscliff. Strong tail wind for long stretches but try as I might, I couldn't maintain 40 kph!! Very few cyclists out at 6 pm on Christmas Eve but I was amazed at how many joggers...
Now family commitments start and no riding for 2 days....

Managed to knock over 3/5's of it today and didn't even take first spot on the leader-board. It seems there was some one even more crazy than us out there today.

The Stefan R from Ibiza took it out last year. He had completed it within two days. Currently seventh at 230km and one ride.

I am amazed he can get 230kms worth of riding out of Ibiza, having been there it is only around 30km wide (if that).
Nice, by the way that was me that just followed you 8)

And i'm off! 75 km this morning.
A good piece of synchronicity is that doing 500km before the end of the year will get me to my annual target, not that i'm obsessing or anything.
Back to more pressing matters, like xmas feast.
Merry xmas everybody,

Been told I'm allowed ride after Christmas lunch. Not sure if it's a trick... Don't know how all those Christmas salads are going to mix with another 100 km's.

Yes that pretty much sums it up perfectly. 13 hours total time including stops to refuel, regroup and of course for photo op's. 6 of us started the ride and by the end of the first 140 km loop our starting group of 6 had dwindled down to 3.

Nice effort indeed. Well done.

Did a quick post lunch ride in the rain and the wind to add to yesterdays 100. Now I can have some pudding!

Some great efforts coming through.

I thought I could be heading back to bed if it was pouring down this morning, but it was OK, nice in fact.f Only rain I got was coming back up Bobbin Head, but I'm pretty sure it's always raining there. Have somewhere to be soon, so happy to get 65kms out of the way:

Three people have completed the challenge already...one bloke did the 500 in one ride, one with some big rest stops

It finally stopped raining here to get out to put another 82ks toward the total...the weather could be the killer for me!

Back on to it today. Christmas day was spent sleeping, eating and doing not much of anything else after the bid day Christmas Eve. Something a little less crazy with just a nice easy 1hr and a bit.

344 km covered 156 km to go.

223kms down.. I will hit up the roadie for ~60km in the morning and then jump on the MTB for ~30km on the local rail trail in the late arvo. Keen to knock over the kms as I have a pub session this Sat and new years to factor in. ;)

Some of the achievements so far are pretty awesome. I'm at 212km after today's effort which was hampered by rain and wind and wanting to see the Hobbit. Though have just loaded the bike for tomorrows commute to work, so I'll keep chipping away.

I'm sitting on 230 after 3 days!
Weather permitting I'm up again in the morning to do a lazy river loop before work.....

I've done 1211ks for December, if I do 520ks for the challenge I'll be on 1500 for the month....hoping to have it all done on Sunday then the 31st and the 1st will be rest days

Good luck to everyone else as you keep getting out there 8)

Sitting just north of 325km after todays hungover ride. Not bad for just two proper rides.

Just a gentle 45km in the rain today, AmyInBrisbane was feeling a little sore-legged after her running efforts the day before. Was a beautiful ride though in the Scenic Rim, Harrisville>Roadvale>Kalbar>Harrisville. I'm hoping to do 90-100km tomorrow in a similar direction, if I feel up to it. Currently at 224km, would like to push on!

hello Australia, Happy Holidays.

hello skull,
you moved only from disco to disco when you have been here, with girls and beer? ;))) "joking"

Ibiza is between 70-80km long and 40km wide. without touching the 3-4 national main roads, you can ride at least a net of around 500km small country side roads in peace and without traffic. Ibiza is small, but not sooo small ;)

hey have nice Festive 500 days! enjoy and stay save!

best Stefan
